New Holland Boomer 1025 PTO Switch

Hello Everyone,
I own a New Holland Boomer 1025, we were having issues with the PTO recently and now there's an issue where the Tractor doesn't start at all. We brought it to our local Tractor supplier/mechanic and they told us the PTO switch was bad and needed to be replaced (its stuck in the "activated" position so the tractor wont start), they quoted us at over $1000 to fix it and after asking about the scope of the work and doing some research on the part, it definitely doesn't seem like anything I wouldn't be able to do in house. As someone who's done automotive and mechanical work I can't understand why it would be that hard, unless there's something I wouldn't know about the scope of the work.
Would anyone have any experience/knowledge on the matter to help me understand whether or not I should be able to do it myself or if it really requires $1000 worth of work?

A new switch only costs about 73 bucks an doesn't look too overly hard to replace.
