2024/2025 Toyota Land Cruiser

Is anyone driving, buying, wanting, or following the "new" 250 series Toyota Land Cruisers?

Not excatly cheap but some interesting tech and solid Japenesse build. I like the fact you dont have to buy a highly optioned up model but if you want that is also available. It would be nice if you could pick and choose some optioins without getting a package or higher model but that seems to be the new thing in the car sales arena. Want to add the sunroof, get the next model up for 13k more....

Before anyone says it, yes the price of new cars is crazy high. Even Econoboxes are low to mid 20's anymore.....

I really like them, but I'm not sold on a turbo 4 as the engine. It doesn't look like a light vehicle.

My wife drives a 2020 LC, I don't think the new one compares, it's also a lot cheaper. I like the Lexus version better with the turbo V6 and non-hybrid, but haven't driven either of them.

So far that motor in other vehicles seems to be doing very well so hopefully it continues that for the long term. I do find it amazing that they are pulling 326hp and and 465 lb ft of torque out of that motor with the hybrid system. It is less HP than the old v8s but higher torque with better gas mileage.

That the old Land Cruiser was sold as a luxury vehicle in the States was a damn travesty.

I do agree with you that they should have offered it more utility focused as well. It would be nice to be able to purchase a stripped down 80 series like they still sell in other parts of the world.

I'm going to keep my 200 series for awhile yet. Once I'm confident the new 300 series has all the kinks worked out, I will buy the Lx600, which is the only way to get the 300 series in the US. At that point I will remove all the Lexus badging and buy the 300 series front end from overseas.

The 80 series had a straight six tractor motor that could be shot with a 50 cal and still run. .
