good morning all
quiet morning here, snow starting in a few hours, only predicting one inch now. high of 31, snow ending by noon.
didn't accomplish much yesterday but it was relaxing, need one of those days occasionally
headed out this morning, should be a pretty snowy drive.
Cd rates have dropped around here from 4.75 to 4.25 and will only go out 7 months.

Way behind on posts. My mom is in the hospital again with congestive heart failure and FLU. The fly has kicked her rear. I honestly don't know whether she'll make it or not. Not looking good at the moment because heart/kidney function knocked down to 34%. Doc says possibly heart catheritization could open a possible blockage, but high chance for renal shutdown.
Her cardiologist will be back tomorrow, will help make decision hopefully. A week ago, she was living on her own, getting around with a cane, and cracking jokes with the waitresses.

Praying for your mom. Sounds very similar to my mom's situation back in October.

Good morning, the low is 3 and going to a high of 12°F. Wind N 5 mph. Partly sunny. 40% chance of flurries. The radar shows totally clear, so I don't know where they are getting their flurries from.

Block heater for the Dodge turned on. Time to get breakfast into me and get on with the day. 8 stops today.

Just went outside to measure the snow before it continues to get smashed down by sleet and rain. We are still showing in the "blue" - snow - on radar, but on the ground we are getting the "mix." Sleet against the window woke me up. Snow was 3"...supposed to get some more today and this evening.

Yesterday, got most of the branches picked up and moved with the tractor, then moved two pallets of firewood. Brought some up to fill the rack on the porch, and got everything secured.

Last night let Della out in the snow...she had only experienced an inch or less in the mountains with flurries. She jumped out in it, looked up and stared, like the sky was falling, and jumped back up on the porch, until I went out with her.

29 outside right now. That should be the high for today. Looks like 5 inches of snow already and more to come. Will be inside for the day.

Yesterday we went exploring on the back forty. Took a few hours out of the day. Found an old sewing machine, a few bottles, jars and some sort of creamer cup. Wife says circa 1920's, 1940's for all. We believe it was part of the original farm owners property way back when. Came across two old pieces of equipment too. Found a few days earlier and needed to show wife.



It would be nice to pull them up to the farm for yard art, but I would need a dozer to get back there. It was a fun hike and will have to go exploring again for Mr. Beaver as we still did not find his lodge. I understand they go many miles for foraging. So he is probably on the neighbors property. Sigh.

Looks like the week only gets colder from here ! I doubt that we will even hit 32 today!

Yesterday after early church service I hung all Kathleen’s pan and pot lids on the wall going down to the cellar. She was always complaining that she could never find what she was looking for ! So a bit more organized now rather than having all of them crammed in a lower cabinet! These are the kind of things I need to do to keep busy during these cold winter days ! Also have some painting projects to tackle !

27 degrees in Central Texas. Not bad for you Northerners, but this time yesterday morning it was 70 degrees. So 27 with a stiff wind feels COLD.

Good morning! 26˚F and still dropping, it should bottom out at 25˚. We should be above freezing by 11AM and 46˚ by 4PM. Clear skies slight N wind. Got a text from the Farm last night that they will be open today and to dress warm. Good thing I'm NOT working in January.

Got an email through Amazon from the company that sent the pool surface skimmer. They wanted pictures of the problem. How do you photograph a machine that won't turn on???? I sent them an e-mail back and they replied just send a pic of the back of the machine. It is supposed to be under warranty for 2 years so looking for a new one or a refund.
