Why do you think Nissan physically failed to build technically and financially successful EVS after all these 15+ years of trying? In Honda's case they have not even really tried so there's no surprise they do not have a high volume financially successful EV business today."ICE makers?" The article is mostly focused on Honda and Nissan, both of whom were EV pioneers, and both of whom currently make many EV's. Heck, Honda made the first ever production hybrid, 25 years ago with that silly Insight, before companies like Tesla were even a dream. Nissan was one of the first to make a really big investment in BEVs with the LEAF, back in 2010!
It's interesting that mergers are predicted, and movement away from ICE's to various EV tech's may be a factor, but these companies shouldn't be classed as just "ICE makers".
