Good morning!!!!

Good morning, the low is 23 and going to 25°F. Wind WNW 11 mph. Periods of light snow.

Today is dump run day IF it is open. I will call about 9:30 and see. Regardless of whether or not the dump is open I MUST go to town today. It seems that I overdrew the bank account over the holidays. I have the cash here to resolve that problem. The bank doesn't pay any interest on a checking account and neither does my underwear drawer.

Time to get on with my day.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
40 degrees and more wind today
no plans yet for today
need more coffee to wake up, going to be a slow morning
maybe a trip down to rv to install solar battery charger later in the day when it's warmer out

snow in the forecast for early next week, one inch predicted. Not enough for me to fire up snowblower though
it would be good to run it. Going to remain very cold all week so snow might not melt, which means if I drive on it
leaves icy spots

a little reminder due to a local tragedy. 78 year old lady visiting her daughter a few miles away from me died from
CO2 poisoning due to a defective heating system. If you have a forced air system using gas or fuel oil, super important
to have at least one CO2 detector on each floor of your home. When systems get to be 30+ years old, and lots of old homes here,
the combustion chambers can rust or rot out and the products of combustion
get sent throughout the house and folks like this lady don't wake up.
and please read the install instructions, you do NOT install CO2 detectors like you do smoke detectors.
I personally have always had at least two battery operated detectors in addition to hard wired.
when it comes to things that can kill me in my sleep, I'd like belt and suspenders.

Timely input. My sister in law just had an episode with her stove. That is, she started feeling very ill and went to an emergency medical center to discover she had carbon monoxide poisoning. They shut down her oven, but I do not know what the final result of this is / was.
Have been looking at combo smoke/carbon monoxide alarms on Amazon. There is one for a LOT cheaper than the Kiddie brand, but.... ? I definitely want the units with a 10year lithium battery. The Kiddie is (2 pack) $150 while another unit is $30 (for one). A huge price difference that makes me wonder ?

We also stopped at one of our favorite restaurants on the way home and pigged out. Brought half of it home in doggie bags.

Good Morning,
Vt, 27 to start going all the way to 32 !We had a snow squall come through about 8 pm or so that left about an inch of snow! The wind continues to blow at a good clip making it feel much colder than it is !

We need to finish the cleanup this morning before heading out and head south.

At most we had about 2,500 bales at one time up there. And had room to spare. New roof about two years ago. Should be good for another 100
Mike, that looks like a fine old barn ! I’m guessing the roof job had to cost a small fortune! My Grandfathers old barn had the hay grapple , when back in the day he used to haul loose hay with it off of the hay wagon which were drawn by a team of horses ! All his implements were horse drawn ! I can’t even imagine how much work that was !
Nextel push button to talk like cb
Buppies, many years ago when I was a line officer in our volunteer fire department, we had the Nextel phones for a short time ! The walkie talkie feature was cool but I guess it never really caught on !

Hope all have a good day ! 🙏

I have used this model but have no idea how it compares with others.
I know the hard wired one in my rv is super sensitive, went off when I sprayed bug spray near it.
usually heat/smoke rises and gas sinks but not always...
I have one in rv, two in home, one in garage because of propane heater in there

I bet the difference in cost is that Kidde is UL rated. I can't see any rating on this. Would like to see UL or CE.
