I’ve been trying to sell my 48 inch rotary cutter in suburban NJ. It’s been on Craigslist and Marketplace for 6 months, not even a bite

It was too large for my x730 (shocker)

Any ideas? My dealer won’t take it.

Thanks all.

Interesting. I just sold a LandPride 72" rotary cutter on Marketplace to a guy from North Jersey. Got $1K for it. I'm in northeast PA and he drove up to get it. It was listed for 14 days.

I see that is a Tractor Supply in-house brand, and it sells on the left coast for $1600+tax at the store. You are trying to get $1100 I see.

Now it is no longer mowing season, so selling will be tough. $1600 seems high for only a 48" Chinese rotary cutter, but prices have been crazy this year. I do see a 60-inch Tarter also for sale on CL (NJ) for $800, in like-new shape. Ouch.

I think mowers in general are hard to sell because they tend to get hammered pretty hard. Asking more than half the new price will be hard unless it’s pristine. And it’s certainly not the season right now. I just bought a new batwing for about 30% off the normal discounted price because it’s end of season. Good time for buyers, not so good for sellers.

I just paid $200 for a 48 inch walk behind. ;-) Runs great, and has new belts on it.
The 54 inch walk behind is getting rusty, so I wanted a replacement before one of the castors fell off ;-)

A 48 inch mower behind a tractor seems like a small market. Unless it were a finish mower/

Actually it’s a perfect size for subcompact tractors.

I can't imagine many folks in NJ needing to hog brush with a sub compact.

If it's worth doing, do it right!
