You Know You Are Old When

There still comes a point where you need to engage your brain before speaking first.

The the other week just after church service, we're breaking everything down (start up church at a school) and the one guy is pushing paperwork into his wife's plastic case (she's a school teacher), and you can see he's having to use some force because things are getting tight per paperwork in the box being stored vertically.

His wife is watching him and tells him "be careful and don't stretch my box out!"

I immediately responded that I would touch that comment with a 10' pole...

I immediately apologized for the comment... Luckily people were chuckling and not just staring at me...
YIKES! :ROFLMAO:

Sears was my first credit card at age 25 in the mid eighties. Bought a Kenmore washer & dryer set. The only time in my life I’ve paid credit card interest.
I think Sears was my first credit card as well. I needed a suit for some occasion soon after we got married in the mid 80's, and got a discount if I opened an account with them. Not sure if I ever used it again after that. 🙃

I had not used mine for some time and Sears sent a new one and I had to call in to confirm and was told good to go.

Went to buy a set of tires on sale and a new Die Hard battery.

Card declined???

It was later explained good to go was only to confirm I had received the new card.

Sears wanted me to do a quick application for a new card... I said why would I do that when I can't use the card in my hand...

Pretty much ended my Sears shopping.

I did the same many years later at Sears to get 10% off on a Panasonic 50” plasma TV. $250 saved! Boy those early flat screen TV’s were expensive. But amazing!

Yep. We still have a 50" plasma TV. Its picture is worn out quite a bit. But it makes a nice heater in the bedroom when we don't want to turn the furnace on. Kinda funny to put that video of the crackling fireplace on and actually feel heat from the TV. :ROFLMAO:

Airplane! The Movie

I couldn’t find where the pilot handed JJ a credit card😂
My dad and I loved that movie when it came out.

Not my wife's cup of tea though per comedy...

Had my young boys (at the time) watch it with me on TV as I thought they would get a kick out of it.

I COMPLETELY forgot when the girl jumps in the middle of the isle with no shirt or bra on and her boobs bouncing up and down. Completely mortified. Complete silence after that and both boys just looked at me...
