Each bathroom had a floor drain...so simply remove the tp & towel dispenser & stand at door with the pressure washer. In 5 minutes...DONE.

I spent yesterday pressure-washing our wrap-around porch, so I speak from very recent memory when I say pressure washers have an unacceptable level of blow-back onto the operator, for your particular application.

Becoming older, 60 nothing, 62 SS no big deal, 65 Medicare nothing special, 70 nothing, 75 holy moly what the hell

happened!

40 was no big deal. Just a few people ribbing me.
50 I don't remember. Just felt like another day.
60 shock me up in my own head. When did I suddenly become soooo old.
Now it's a count down to pushing daisies.

I worked at a service station in 1970. Never a dull moment for an 18 y.o. because owner had tow truck, fuel oil deliveries, working on cars, trucks, tires, etc. $1.25/hr. Then he said we had to clean bathrooms (). Owner was gone a lot & I worked with two friends ("Monkey" & "Rat" ) I said first day I had an idea. Each bathroom had a floor drain...so simply remove the tp & towel dispenser & stand at door with the pressure washer. In 5 minutes...DONE.
Owner never caught on but said they looked brand new.
Of course he had the door key chained to a car wheel for customers.
We played hide & seek one day & I hid in ice chest. A car pulls up, I hear the quarter drop so I handed the lady a bag of ice (she screamed). I could write a book...

The gas station I worked at was open 24/7. Weekend nights were the best. Guys would bring their own cars in to work on them on the lift at 3 in the morning. Carrie's 69 Camaro, Steves 72 Monte Carlo and Mikes 72 road runner always comes to mind... (I was lucky to use my dads Chevy Citation to drive to work).

Van from Jersey would always show up between 1AM to 5AM on the weekends and ask for a free tank of gas in exchange for any free stereo equipment they had loaded in the back.

Also leaned basic business...

Butch's wife would come in and walk behind the counter and take money from the register, no questions asked. But then Butch would be closing out the drawer and he ask why he was coming up short on the till balancing it out, and we told him his wife came and took money, and he just said "OK" LOL

Come to think of it, No one has referred to me as Mr. *lastname*
That's always been my father, not me!

At age 30, I'd go to work all day, and then school or studies all night. Weekends would be spent working on the house all day, then going out at night. If I could catch 2-3 hours of sleep in my bed and another 2 hours on the train, I could make it through the week just fine, and get a little catch-up sleep on weekends.

At age 40, I'd go to work all day, then come home and work on the house or yard all evening, then do bills, mail, etc. until bed. If I could get 6 hours of sleep, I'd be fine, no need to even play catch up on weekends. Never understood why most others required "down time".

Now at age 50, I can no longer do desk work all day and physical work all evening, or vice versa. It's usually only one or the other, rarely both. More naps are involved, I have a sofa and wood stove in my office, although I still seem to only spend 5 hours per night in my own bed.

Amen!!! Not just restrooms, either. I walked into the local general store one spring day after the snow had melted and started picking up cigarette butts off the floor where they had been tracked in- then suddenly realized "WTF am I doing this for?"

Years ago the Maine Forest Service maintained campsites throughout Maine, which were available to use for free. I spent 10 days working out of one, then left Monday AM, leaving a neat campsite and a pile of firewood. I returned Friday night to find trash all over the place and a pile of s- er, excrement in the fire pit.
On another occasion we were camped out next to a lake, where a young couple was also staying with their kids. When they pulled out I walked over to see about moving as it was a nicer site right next to the water. There were dirty diapers everywhere including in the fire pit and in the lake.

I used to live near a part of the Penobscot River where it widened out and it was common to see where cars had just driven there, changed their oil onto the ground and left the old oil filter and empty containers laying there. I couldn't believe it.

Hartford CT, I used to know some older guys who would do the same over a storm grate. They'd stomp the filter and slip that thru the grate, right behind the used oil.

I have a couple 50 gal barrels I use for storage.
When full I take them to a friend who owns a garage and put the oil in his holding tank.
The company that picks up the used oil used to pay a little something for it.
That didn't matter to me, but it was kept out of the environment.
Now they charge for collecting the used oil. I'm still willing to pay. It's pennies really.

But some people ...
In our region the governance that be decided you could only put out one bag of garbage every 2 weeks but put out recycling every week.
Anything more and you have to attach a tag that now costs $5.
It is an attempt to get people to recycle more.
Where I am in the countryside we end up the recipients of this garbage. It gets thrown in the ditches and farm laneways.
People are willing to spend $5-10 on gas to drive here to save the cost of a tag.
Really makes sense.
