Good Morning to all who celebrate! Currently, 44 going to a high of 62. Partly Cloudy. Another light frost this morning.

Saturday went to the roaming Gun Show with one of the logging crew, It's always good to see him. We were both sorely tempted but managed to get out without filling out paperwork to purchase. I swear that show gets smaller every year. We both agreed to try to find more time to get to the range to utilize what we already have.

Dad kindly left a bunch of cut limbs for me that I stumbled upon. A quick bit of seat time and they found a home in the treeline.

All packages came in, axe feels nice and has a good balance to it. Wedges will do the job and came in a nice mesh bag to keep together. The lockpicking kit is in the truck, needs to find a home somewhere. Probably fool with it when work is slow.

Speaking of work, Boss is out nursing whatever he picked up on Friday...102 degree fever...hope he doesn't have That Disease Which Shall Not Be Named...again. We've both had it twice at this point. Regardless, with him being out of commission it sets us back a week on projects. If only one of us is in the office, we're mainly focused on making sure what we have keeps running normally.

Goals for this week: Survive the workweek and the last few days of political insanity.

Drew, I would strongly recommend a visit to Stowe, VT. Even without the snow, it's a beautiful town and mountain.

Everyone, Stay safe y'all and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts!

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 4:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 74F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph.

Sorry to learn of the medical issues,, Ted. Hope you can find the right provider and get Dona some relief soon.

<RANT>After not even having a PCP for almost 2 years, it's been a real PITA finding one and then following up with specialists to fix what ails me. Language problems, too, with a Chinese dentist that speaks very broken English, and has to use a Hispanic interpreter that fortunately is very fluent. I wonder, though, if the lay person interpreter really understands the dental lingo and issues? Scheduling has been a nightmare, too, with long waits for appointments. And dealing with crappy administrative staff that limits direct access to the actual doctor, will not return phone calls, and can't remember or find patient information. And horrible voicemail systems, some of which only have outgoing messages that say to call back later, and have no provision at all for leaving a message. I could go on, but I'm saddened and deeply worried about the state of modern medicine. Never appreciated how good I had it even as recently as five years ago. And don't even get me started about dealing with Medicare and billing with multiple insurance providers. I feel helpless in my ability to reconcile the bills I get with a service provider and service date and type. That info is pretty basic, but seldom shows up on the bills! </RANT>
change your fire alarm batteries! Mine "chirp" at us when the batteries get low. Sometimes annoying if it happens in the middle of the night.
I'm convinced that smoke alarms are programmed to only chirp in the wee hours of the morning, with a time delay between chirps long enough to inspire hissy fits.
Speaking of android phone, I may need to update. Work's secure website telling me my OS is a risk. Problem is I can't/won't spend a lot on a phone, and the new Motorolas don't have the best reviews....
If you have to use your personal cellphone for work, work should be paying for a new cellphone. But in some companies that raises concerns over using company resources for personal business, so that could be a no win situation, too. Worth looking into, though. Have you seen the prices for new iPhones lately?
I like the time change as it is now. early to bed, and some daylight now before 7am for a few weeks.
If I got to choose, I'd like more daylight at the end of the day when I'm more alert. But I'd settle for not having to change the clocks twice a year. If I'm not mistaken, there was a bill passed several years ago to cancel the time change, but for some reason it's never been implemented. Am I missing something?

Spent the afternoon with my buddy, hiking with the dog and checking over a motorcycle that's going with us down to Salton Sea next weekend. This'll be the first time I've ever trailered to one of these events, but the ride over is mostly desert and long, straight stretches of highway. And we can carry bigger chairs and real pillows, a lot more food, and even a six pack or two. Ended up driving home in the dark, first time for doing so in the Camry. The headlights need adjusting upward just a bit because the cutoff is very sharp and the reach drops drastically at the end of a hill. Otherwise it's a good, bright pattern, nice to see LEDs in the economy base level trim.

Still need to clean the sawdust out of the van. Killed a large black widow spider in one of the moving blankets that came down last trip, so I'll be on the lookout for more. Also need to make sure the trailer wiring is working. Not sure what else I'll get into today; there's always something.

Hope everybody's week gets started off on the right foot.

Morning all, 35 going to 63 and sunny, dry.
Did not get much done yesterday, mostly house clean up and storing unused stuff and Halloween decorations. Wife has already brought down Christmas decorations.

Mpham, keep forgetting you are near where my uncles house was, bridge of flowers, deerfield river and the savoy mountain state forest and tannery falls were all on our wanderings as kids.

Sorry to hear all the DR troubles for Dona and hope you are able to get this all figured out soon.

Well, back to the day job,

Be well,

The leaf patrol is not helping much this year.

Good morning! Low of 28°, 32° now and snowing!

image.jpg

The forecast is now calling for a couple inches today, clear tomorrow, then more snow on Wed. and Thurs. Maybe up to 8" by the time it's done. The snow could dump as much as 16" up on the higher elevations above 8,000 ft.

Thank you guys for all the prayers and well wishes. This is gonna be a rough road....

At least tomorrow's forecast is clear for the trip to Santa Fe for Dona's appointment. I may take an alternate route bypassing the steep hills 'through' the mountains just to be safe.

Gotta go.... have a great day!

'Morning everyone. We finally got some rain here in Iowa, still calling for more today. Crops are 99% in but the water table needs it. I got a letter (group mailing) the other day from the CEO of my medical group that they are "negotiating" with my Medicare Advantage insurance carrier Humana for a new contract with "fair compensation". The current contract expires 1/1/25, which is after the open enrollment period. Hope I don't need to find another carrier, since this dr office and pharmacy are right here in town and I don't want to change.

Morning all;

It was a bit nippy outside this morning 28F earlier, up to 47F now.
Been an active morning for me,
tire man was here just before 8 to mount the new front tires on the Branson, looking nice we shall see how they work this winter, almost a shame to cover them up with chains.

Now it's time to head over to Lowes and pick up a bit more lumber for the contractor working on the porch. The guy that built this place back in the 70's gets me every time we do anything that uncovers his work.
As i told the contractor this morning he could screw up a wet dream without even trying. Nothing straight and plumb, shims hidden all over. Everything takes more material and time then it should.
Enough of that.

Supposed to warm back up later in the week for few days then head back to normals, oh well it is November.

Everyone stay safe and get well.

I just got up from a power nap. 8:30 to 11. A good nap.

Ontario was entertaining the same thing but blame Quebec and New York for not following suit. Typical of Ontario, blame everybody else. Areas of Ontario that are West of 90° West longitude use central time which is 1 hour later that us in the Eastern time zone.

70°F and 1.27 inches rain

Appointment at PC this morning, follow-up from wellness check for my BP. Not seeing any difference since started taking the meds and I do check every morning.

Happy Hour at a new neighbors. Of course that will depend on weather. The road to his place quite susceptible to the rain, can be impassable.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
