I loved my old 261 with 20 inch bar. The new 261 is quite a bit lighter and more powerful so with 16 inch bar should be easy to handle but if more is needed I will change to the 20 inch bar with .325 chain from the old saw.
The 400 will go as high as 25 inch bar but is happy at 20 inch in hard wood performing like a 60 cc saw but being lighter
The Makita is used for smaller stuff
D reporting the guys did not like Vietnam and got phone hacked and overpaid must places including overweight luggage and D was the only one paying overweight from US but to Laos was not charged. Must be her smile

Scott hope you recover soon

Billy, sorry for your loss

wngsprd, Condolences to you and your family.

At in-laws again. OMG.

Back up and down the road numerous times these past few days. Dazed and confused.

More family showed up from FLA to help. Talk about elevated stress and different reality. LOL.

Anyway, dumpster time now. Number three on order for the AM.

Darn cars still hanging around. Need to advert better.

Got lots of stress stories, funny as crap now, but in the time were "this will kill someone" type events.

Everything for a reason, this too shall pass, stay positive.

Good evening and good night.

sorry for the drama riptides.

everyday here, a heat record breaker, but not what you might think. One day broke 1931's record, another broke another old one, today or yesterday might have broken a 1917 record. So folks, it has been hot for a lot longer than we might think.

I was going to say I'm ready for a summer castle up north until Lou posted that Fword freezing...

Our work's FB team won Saturday night's big game primetime ABC...don't know if it was nationwide or not.

Son's freshman FB team playing harder, but still getting beat by bigger teams. They have played teams combine JV and frosh a few times now. Our JV just got disbanded last week and moved all players to varsity, to no avail, they got the shifting sand kicked out of them last Friday by one of the top teams in the state.

Work is busy. You try to plan on doing what you need to do but I keep getting interupted by stuff. Today, a student passed out in the weld shop while sitting at a table.....then a natural gas leak outside our building. I turned off the only service to our building which only provides gas for a single cylinder engine like an old Fairbanks and Morse, but not sure of brand. They only run it maybe 1 day a year. I called it in to 2 authorities and they were supposedly sending someone. It wasn't a major leak. A tiny sniff every now and then when the wind was blowing in circles.

Prayers for our team, our nation, Israel and Ukraine.

Been too long since I bucked any wood, and my hands and back tell me I've let myself get a bit too sedentary. That or I'm just gettin' old.
Yeah Mate... although I've reminded/taught myself to undergo a series of muscle stretches prior to doing any big job.

I'm ready to 'order' next season's wood and that will mean about nine 'day's' (an hour or so per day) worth of lifting & carrying to stack. If I don't stretch prior to that day's task, I'm 'buggered' for 3.

Yup. Can't do nothing for a few days and then expect to do a big job out of nowhere?
Like an old car I need time to warm up and then ease into gear. Even that doesn't work every time.
Long gone are the days of pruning the vineyard or orchard for 10+ hours a day. Or even a full days tractor time. Now after mowing the property for about 3 hours I get off the tractor and walk like a duck for 10+ minutes until I straighten up.
