...because every car they pass is a "win."

Sometimes, it's because they're worried the slow guy is about to get off at the same exit, and then they'll be stuck behind him on the local road(s).

If someone wants to go faster than me, I have no problem at all with them passing me, whenever... wherever. The only ones that get under my skin are those who pass me, and then slow down!

Ya, re tracking info, I hate when they tell you the item has left the shipper, and that is it. Would be much nicer if they gave us a hint of at least what country or state or province the shipper is.

If you click on the tracking number, or copy/paste it into the courier's site, that info should be listed there.

Another annoying one is when they send you an email was shipped, but then you check two days later find status is "label created, not yet delivered to or retrieved by courier". It usually means some ebay or Amazon Marketplace seller has printed a shipping label for your item, but it's still sitting in his front foyer waiting for him to run it to the UPS store or post office.

Especially fun when it's an item for which you need the tractor and pallet forks, and it's a rainy day when you can't just leave everything staged outside in the driveway.

Here's one: people who just assume you're in agreement with their politics. People make assumptions based on your wealth, race, education, choice of vehicles. Being a somewhat contrarian guy, not following the social norms of either party with sufficient conformity, I get it from both sides.

Peeve: The abuse you feel from crime.

1. You are abused by the entities breaking into your home and stealing your stuff.

2. To try to curb the abuse from (1 above) you employ the services of an alarm company and have to pay them $500/year just to feel better. Nobody expects them to provide the service for free, but it still feels like extortion.

3. In order to have the alarm system, you have to have a permit from the police department.

4. Police department decides to start charging residents of their city $20/year just to keep a piece of paper on file saying that you have an alarm system (and God forbid you have a "false alarm" for which they charge you more money). All for the privilege of helping them do their job.

Every step of this is a slap in the face.

Here's one I'm feeling this morning: 2-factor authentication.

Every effing website seems to be going to this, now they want me to wait 5+ minutes to receive a stupid code by email, or else give them my cell phone number for a slightly faster retrieval, just to log into my account on their website. I know my passwords, and my passwords are strong, so stop penalizing me for the stupidity of others who cannot remember or create strong passwords.

Even worse, half the time I get onto doing something else while waiting for the stupid temporary passcode to arrive, and then it's expired by the time I get back to enter it. Start all over...

Interstate drivers passing while on cruise control - set at the same speed you're driving!

They take "an eternity" to get past you, the whole while blocking any chance for you to take evasive safety maneuvers if needed.

I see 'em coming and speed up to get in the clear...they're clueless!
