Some will say "why bother when you can just put the electric wand directly in the BBQ under a stack of coals?" but in my situation that would require me to retrieve a 25' extension cord, unroll it, roll it back up when done and put it back where it came from.
Certainly not a lot of trouble but I like this method better. I cut two slots below the chimney grate, reenforced one slot with a small piece of sheet metal strapping to keep the wand from dropping down into the two existing air holes.
Insert wand, five minutes of electricity, remove the wand and let the coals work up for a while and then walk the chimney over to the BBQ. Fire Marshal Bill approved...

Timing is everything in this case if you don't pick it up in time to take to the bbq, you could drop hot ash/coals on the way. BUT, not a bad idea.

Once the bottom coals show the first sign of ignition, the chimney is off to the BBQ.
