Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.5C and it's presently 18.0C, clear & calm. There was 1.3mm in the gauge @ 0900.

The wind has abated; flagpole & flag re-installed. Rain is predicted for later & for the next 2-3 days.

Surprised that Paddock #6's gate was open = wind had loosened the large chain-staple and it had popped off. Hindsight/reason would've been horses rubbing their hindquarters against the gate over the years. I did go out and hammer the staple back in + hammered the staples for Paddocks # 1 & 2. I'll remember to do the remaining paddocks soon. "Stitch in time" sort of thing, if one goes, check the others.

Everything accomplished 'in town' yesterday... just tootlin-along today.

That's about it, take care all.

a challenging day has ended well. Tech showed up at 8pm, wiggled main wire going into box, sparks shot out. Well we found it.
Took automatic transfer switch box apart, thankfully innards not wrecked, and surprisingly because the wires were toast coming in. No wonder, they used big wire nuts to connect a solid strand and a woven wire, which of course after five years of jiggling came loose, and created a toaster.
We figured I was about ten minutes out from having a fire under the bed.
yikes.

so we cleaned up all the wires and put them back on and it all worked perfectly. Before the case was warm, now it's not. No more toaster no more heat hopefully. I have the model number of the chinese transfer box; tech said I could replace it with another since they are wired similarly.
I will replace it as soon as I get home. All I wanted to do was solder all those connections and the guy didn't bring his soldering gun, or any kind of
nice crimping tools. oh well, he got it done.

a/c humming away on shore power, just like it should be.
since I've been up since 1am, think it's time for me to finally go to bed.
