You Know You Are Old When

Yeah, I had to stop at Martin's this evening to get a new supply of chocolate chip cookies, I was out of them. I do however, limit myself to two cookies per day.
That's willpower!!!

I'm down to 3-4 cookies and 4 pieces of dark chocolate most days.

But once in a while, I break into the Little Debbies. 😛

Never developed a taste for it. Smells nice, but can't stand the taste.
I could never stand coffee, probably haven't drank an entire cup in my whole life. When I worked on construction in the 70s, sometimes people would bring us coffee at break time in the cold months, and I just had to thank them, but politely decline it. I would, however, take an ice cold Coke or Pepsi.

Reminds me of Vienna Fingers. I never liked them, but could wipe out half a family pack (probably 60 cookies?) in a single sitting as a teen, when dipped in whole milk.

I've always had the same relationship with Oreos. Never liked them, I think the chocolate wafer is terrible, but damn... give me a glass of whole milk, and I can slam down a dozen Oreo Original cookies in the blink of an eye.

I'm a skinny guy, believe it or not. 6'-0" and 170 lb., just a high metabolism.

Oreos are my second cookie of choice after chocolate chip. But there again, I limit myself to 3 or 4 a day. That helps too, because by the time I eat the last ones in the package, they're getting stale.

You skinny, high metabolism guys piss me off. If I take in more than 1500-2000 calories a day, I gain weight. A lady friend that stayed here for a couple of years ate constantly, easily 3 or 4 times what I ate in a day and stayed thin. Then to make it worse, she was always baking something, bread, cookies, cakes, or pies. The good thing was that if I didn't eat some soon after she made them, they were all gone.

You know you are old when.... the amount of miles you drive dwindles to the "annual" oil change interval.

My wife was on a weight watchers points program for several years. It worked great for her. She was very disciplined about it. She was allowed 26 points per day. She figured out I was eating something like 140+ points per day and not gaining a pound. She was not happy.

I like to take 2 mint Oreos and 2 chocolate Oreos and a nice cold glass of milk once in a while. But you are correct that they'll go stale before I can finish the pack. So I suffer.... and eat them anyway! :ROFLMAO:

I've never been skinny, but I used to have a fairly high metabolism. More than once I've been told by someone that if they ate as much as I did they'd weigh 400 lb. Unfortunately, as I've gotten older the metabolism has slowed, but not the appetite. :ROFLMAO:

I'm down to 2 oil change intervals a year, but that's a bit deceiving...modern vehicles can go longer between changes.

My mother made great cookies. One of my favorite Almond ons she called "Mexican Wedding Cookies" or "Fingers".

I just called them Mexican wedding fingers.
When I met my wife I was 6ft & 125#! I wore a 24 waist jeans. Now it's a 38 waist...unless I pull them up an inch then I'm in a 50.

Age is catching up with me. Although I haven't gained a pound, weight started moving from bone density and muscle into small "spare tire" in my late 40's. Still skinny due to being tall, but now at age 50, I'm starting to watch what I eat for the first time in my life. Not fun!
