Mmmm, went out to switch irrigation zones..... spotted a visitor...

Looks to be a small bullsnake, definitely not a rattlesnake, so he can stay, just get relocated to another area.

The birds aren't happy.... he is on their perch where they get drinks. Interesting watching them watching the snake.
Looks like he ought to be holding a little fishing pole, lol. Good pic!

Dennis, TBN is closest I get to social media. I joined TBN because I was getting a tractor. Really learned a lot and hopefully gave back as well. Found GM and is my goto place, otherwise would be an infrequent poster/visitor. I would not be one to jump to a different platform should GM disappear.

fed by small gauge wire not even close to 30a.

knob and tube was 12 gauge copper, 20 amp.
I remember that in my grandfather's house, they never tore it out when
they rewired the house.

Romex came in the 60's for residential.
is there something newer/better now?

do any residential building codes require you to use nonflammable wire?
I know there are commercial specs arising out of life safety code.

I wonder when we will progress beyond wires.
maybe a different way to harness natural magnetism or gravity

You and me both, David.

I don't think that will happen in our lifetimes.

74F and overcast @ 14:30, calling for a high of around 79F for the day.

LWS reports the high yesterday was 93F and we got 0.12" of rain total.

But it looks as though the big cool down has finally arrived.

At least until tomorrow ... when they are calling for a high temp of 88F ...

After that it is really supposed to cool off, with high temps on in the 70's and low 80's for the rest of the Ten Day.

Got the slot cut in the bracket and the backing plate and motor cleaned off last night.

Have some running around to do this afternoon.

See what comes up after that.

Hope everyone is having a decent Wednesday ... (y)

RS, now you have to convince your wife of the need for a nice new powdercoating machine.
So that your repairs last longer and will cost you less in the long haul.
the very long haul........ ;)

went out and picked beans, got enough for dinner tonight.
I think they are getting to the end of the line, but they are still flowering, so that means
more beans.

grey and misty out but thankfully cooler.

been a busy day. Nice to sit down.
though I'll be up shortly to trim those beans.
self trimming green beans, now there's a good invention for Burpee
when self trimming does not mean that your wife just does it...

also got half a dozen blackberries while I was out, one too sour, I rushed it
like a huge dose of vitamin C
well...actually not
took some googling
16 blackberries to the ounce, one ounce meets daily vitamin c requirement.

so if you are stranded on a desert island, and you only have blackberries, you
should eat 16 a day.

I wish I could help Popgadget with something.
I'm doing my most effective helping staying far away
hey mister, what's that do? and that? and that?

he gets that enough from his grandson....

Also navigating the insurance maze. Just got a home owner policy written by USAA requiring an inspection. When we first built they denied coverage due to distance to hydrant and fire station. Supposed to get a virtual inspection.
Could be interesting.
