Good Morning!!!! Already 79F @ 7:15AM. Sunny. High 107F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday when I went out to work on the water softener, I found water leaking onto the base of the 2500 gallon water tank. Turned out to be the feed line from the tank to the pressure pump, leaking at what appears to be a bronze back flow valve. There's a PVC slip to threaded union there that might be loose, or maybe cracked. Went into town yesterday to get a replacement, along with fittings to add a union to the water softener brine discharge line so I can finish that project. So no work on the water heater tank yesterday.
A nice couple did come pick up a pallet of firewood though. They'll be using it for camp fires this summer. I thought to myself that's a rather extravagant price to pay for camp fire wood, but I guess not if you've been buying those little bundles at the camp site.
Saw 109F on the outside thermometer on the van on the way into town yesterday. Needless to say, it was an inside afternoon when I got back.
Drew, have to laugh, would not consider a new vehicle without a sun/moon roof. Open ours most trips unless raining. We rarely turn on ac.
To each their own, David. I've read so many reports of leaking sunroofs on various cars, I wouldn't dream of having one. Ruled out several Camrys last year for that reason. The cause seems to be clogged drain lines, BTW.
Norton in name only. Not unlike Indian or Triumph.
...very important they transfer the same leaking gaskets to the new models...
As soon as I started using YamaBond to seal up the engine on my Commandos, Drew, the oil leaks stopped. I never understood how Gasket Cinch, what I used to use, could seal anything, as it was petroleum based!
This 850 Commando was built up from a basket case, and got flown to England for a month long tour that included the races on the Isle of Man. Coldest, wettest, trip I ever made.
nothing better than a brand new or just sharpened saw chain, particularly in hard wood.
Only if sharpened correctly. First time I took chains to a dealer for sharpening they took half the tooth off, and burned every one. They cut well for a few minutes, then were as dull as when I took them in. Purchased a nice Oregon sharpener and learned to gently bump each tooth and not burn it.
Gonna play plumber today, so I better get movin' while it's still cool. If you consider 80F cool.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend...
