Sorry no picture. Yesterday I was behind a pickup pulling a trailer with an SUV on it. His rear 'tie-down' was a single strap, running side to side, over the trailer hitch. As I passed him, I noticed the front wheels were up against the front bar on the trailer, no restraint. Needless to say, with it that far forward, the rear of the truck was sagging.

It's too bad that trucks aren't equipped with mirrors so that he could see that the body was raised.
Actually they have ‘em… a small spot mirror at the top of the mirror stack… let’s you see if’n yer raising the box into something or… if you can get a driver to actually use their mirrors… see if the bed is raised… heck, the trucks at work have big lights on the dash which come on anytime there’s hydraulic pressure in the system…

The old story… once you make something idiot proof someone comes up with a better idiot…

From an updated news article:

:...driver indicated to police the truck was not equipped with an alarm to alert the driver when the bucket portion of the truck was not fully lowered — a typical safety feature in dump trucks."

Likely, but not certain death.

Here in the SF Bay region a trucker outran a river of burning gasoline when he crashed in a tunnel, years ago.
I found a link describing this.

In Philly, truck burned a bridge out, unfortunately the driver died.
Seems like no one, including the driver checked the top hatch, or he may have survived.
