$1 inflated to now over 7.5 I get but the same menu is $12 and a Whopper or Big Mac meal $16 to $18.

You are correct. Food inflation seems to be much higher.

I could be wrong, but it seems restaurants are not near as crowded as in the past.

Two days ago...

Big Mac meal here is still around $9.

I got two sausage McMuffins and a large sweet tea for $5.48 a couple days ago.

Those high prices people keep quoting are exceptions and not the norm.

Was that strictly a soda fountain concoction in the old days? Don't think I ever heard of it until they started selling it bottled in the 80s.
In my dad’s drugstore (50’s - 80’s) it was a squirt of cherry syrup he would buy in gallon jugs. Dispensed from a Lux dishwashing liquid bottle. 😆 That same white bottle was used for many years.

Coke and then a second machine for Sprite was later added. A small was 7 oz and a large 16 oz. He always said the paper cup cost him more than the drink.

That is exactly what our drug store did to make Cherry Coke. Man was it good to a kid getting ready to go to ball practice.

Same in STL - Big Mac meal is $11.99. That one penny is very important!

Talk about inflation —- Tim McGraw sang a song about “another supper from a sack, a 99 cent heart attack”! Now it’s a $11.99 heart attack.

In all my years of living, never ordered one of those. I do remember the last time at Micky D's and it was over $7 and I had to look at the itemized receipt.
New 50 ton Carrier with 410 going in as I type today…
How long from date of PO to being delivered? I did a recent job on a 20 ton and I cut out the factory installed options because everything called for was at least 16 weeks out, and that was only the other week. 3 phase commercial is really a hit or miss time wise pretty much with everyone for the last 18 months.

Don't know if their restaurants are still around, but you can still get their ice cream in supermarkets.
There are still some around but like Winter Deere said, not as many as years ago. They were a Mass. based corp. The Fribble! My kids loved the clown sundae
