Hi All, I'm out of the loop mostly, and came to see the news on E A ??? - I don't really want to scroll back 175 pages, but the last several pages are about fuel prices and CC stuff.

What page can I go back to for the E A update ? I've thought about buying some of their attachments in the past year or two.

I have never heard of anyone asking a merchant for a cash discount before until now.

That is incredible.

I asked and recieved a cash discount on a watch at a jewelry store. I won't name either but they are both well known brands and NOT known for discounting.

I don't negotiate price on everything I buy but frequently I do. You won't get it if you don't ask.

Our state and federal taxes jack the pump price up a bit. I wounder how that compares Texas v. Cali? I'll check at the pump next time I can and get a pic of the notice.

AFAIK Texas taxes gasoline & diesel the same; CA taxes diesel at a much higher rate, but I can't find a fixed per-gallon value, though there must be one..

Thanks for that chart. Texas fuel pumps all have a sticker that lists the amout of fuel tax included in the pump price. I'll get a picture next time I gas up.

That map is not correct as far as New York state taxes per gallon, I don't have the exact number but seeing as how they also charge, sales tax on the whole taxed number it is much greater

I've done the same - both on a watch (would you take $$$ if I write you a check right now?) and a guitar that I can think of..I'm sure there have been more. For large purchases it's totally worthwhile to ask.
