Morning all, 51 going to 57 and see some sun.
Had a scare last night with dog, she hurt her paw and freaked out, we got her into the car, but by then she was back ti running around and getting excited for a drive.
We went around the driveway and took her for a walk , she seems fine now and this morning.

Got the sticks chipped, and the big fire bush trimmed out, that's about it.
Today need to trim the dogs nails.
Sons GF is coming over, so maybe some house cleanup.

It is the quicklock pole saw, been happy with it so far. Slow but steady and great for cleanup work where it's do a few cuts then do some gathering, then some cuts.
Also can cut down some of the smaller dead ash and not be to close to them.

I just bought a Rove R2 pro, will let all know what I think once it's setup.

Be well,

Of course ran out of gas right in the middle of chipping a large branch.
Had to remove screen to get the bits out, but was able to finish, with some more gas put in.

49F with beautiful, bright sunshine @ 10:45, heading to around 59F for the day's high.

Got hopper feeder refilled yesterday, also some scattered for the ground feeders. Tube feeders were around 1/2 full, probably will need refilled by the end of the day today.

Seeing some red-winged blackbirds around, the half orange I put out a while back is now gone. Will replace that with another half today.

Have seen another new bird that resembled a junco - but with rust color on the underside - that I hadn't been able to identify. As of this morning I believe it may be an Eastern Towhee.

Had a piece of 1/2" hardware cloth in the garage that's been kicking around for a while that I have been intending to make into a plant guard/protector. Got that sewn up yesterday, was time-consuming ... 144 wires had to be bent around with needle nose pliers to tie it up. 12" diameter by 36" tall. Will probably use it around one of the other Rose of Sharon bushes.

Put up a couple of hooks to store pipe clamps on.

Some further cleaning done in the garage.

After that I worked on planting caladiums and pansies in the next square pot. Got those planted and watered.

Went to refill watering can, turned on faucet at the kitchen sink ... no water ... 🤬

Wasn't sure what happened initially but apparently the flapper valve in the toilet in the main bathroom hadn't fully closed and the toilet continued to run for some time.

Ran downstairs and shut off the well pump and left it rest for about an hour and then turned it back and pressure came back up. Turned the pump off overnight, was still holding pressure when we got up this morning ... so leaks ... (y)

First item on the agenda for today will be to go over to the barn and get the Cub and the dump cart and them over to the west side and get all the sticks picked up off the lawn.

Also plan to take a sprayer around back to the garden and get the eastern edge - which isn't yet covered with weed block fabric - sprayed with glyphosate. Have over 1 gallon mixed up, will see how far that goes ... might be able to get more done.

Also have 4 sticks of 3/4 copper water line I need to move around back and into the basement.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

RS, you are starting earlier this year,

Yes !

do you have a freezer for the veggies to put them away?

Limited space in the one in the kitchen.

We do have a large Kenmore chest freezer ... but I need to see if it can be repaired (apparently has a refrigerant leak) ... probably won't get to that until sometime this summer.

that's a lot of tomato plants

Yeah ... if we get a large crop whatever we put up (tomatoes, soup, and sauce) will be pressure canned.

and they all tend to come in at same time...

Maturity ranges from 62 to 95 days.

The two determinate varieties should produce all at once but the indeterminate varieties will produce a more steady stream of fruit over a longer time frame.

Enjoy the planter build ... (y)

Good Sunday Morning! Bright, beautiful day, mostly 70F predicted for today.Slight breeze. Some would call this Chamber of Commerce weather.

May the eclipse watchers have good travelling weather to and from. Saw this somewhere yesterday: "It's an eclipse not an apocalypse. Relax".

Nothing wrong with preparing but some cities are over reacting. Dallas is said to be closing exits on freeways into downtown. "From about 1 to 2 p.m., highway exits headed into downtown will be affected by the “rolling” closures, Dallas police said in social media posts. Drivers leaving downtown should not be impacted, police said, with exits going out of the area remaining open. The closures will encircle the downtown area, impacting stretches of Interstate 35E, Interstate 30, I-345 and Woodall Rodgers Freeway..."

Hopefully, things will work out.

Prayers for our Nation!

Morning all!
Helped someone move this morning so was up and gone before posting.
Snow storm was a major poop fest! Fixing the snow blower didn't make it go away! In fact I only made it 6 feet before the drive belt promptly broke in half!! Did enough of the drive and stairs so they could get out and went looking for a belt. Found one at the store we got the mower from. 98 bucks!!! Hope this one last awhile!

Not much else going on. It was a cold and dreary week for the most part. Weather is supposed to be better this week.

Spent time in the shop and got a few more projects in. I made 4 items that I will post 2 of below.

Health wise we are doing fine. I go for a consult tomorrow for my Endoscopy later. Should be a quiet month for us hopefully!

That's it for now. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
Ebonized walnut and apple goblets.
With the magic wand from before.
I am going to make a Harry Potter type display for it too.
Will be donating them to our city museum to use at their yearly auction/fund raiser.

Never got back to mowing yesterday. About as soon as it dried a bit, more rain. Just annoying. Maybe today.

Up late watching the Hula Festival on TV. Some talent 🤙

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Buppies, beautiful walk way. Looks like Disney world landscaping.

Ron, how much more rock you hope to move? Are they big one's ?

We studied Ephesians 6 today at home as a family.

Son did some weed eating, I did a little mowing with the Beast. Need to spray for scorpions...

Having BBQ'd burgers for late lunch.

Expecting clouds and thunderstorm weather here for eclipse. Have welding helmet for wife and daughter to use. Son was going on a field trip to watch 20 miles away...then come back and get on the bus to go to a tennis tourney (that might get rained out).

At work, we are having a staff appreciation luncheon and eclipse viewing tomorrow. I have some online annual training to get done.

Prayers for Bupps and wifey, mostly, others in need, our country, Ukraine and ******.

Nice day high was 62

Busy few days. Went down on one of the trips to the old ice cream shop for Mint Chip Ice cream. Always what wife likes

Installed the Bosch dishwasher. Had to install an electrical connection box to hook it up and a new water line and drain line. My body was protesting getting under the cabinet and hole sawing etc

The delivery people shorted me and I did not get the parts that should have been with it. Maybe they left it in the box when they took it off. HD will get it to me from Bosch but will be Thursday next week. But installed it anyway with what I had on hand. Only thing I really need now is the toe plate

Planted 8 Forsythia 5 gallon plants

Also fixed the Yard hydrant by silver brazing the stem back on the rod. Not easy to hold it in position to get it brazed. It does not work to tack it because it stays fluid and falls off. And did not have 3 hands. So had to cut treads to hold it
IMG_3452.JPG
long enough to braze it all-around. Install it and it works. Saved a lot work from digging it up. Picture shows the brass steam brazed to the stieel rod
