Car Insurance skyrocketing

A hospital with the bulk charity was going under and other area HMO and for Profits provided grants to keep the doors open fearing patients would come to them if the charity hospital closed.

Lots of care is written off.

An interesting twist is large hospital groups closing locations with high populations of under insured and not insured and building out and upgrading in more affluent areas.

Hospitals close all the time and often it's the not for profit business model that succeeds.

Oh, so just so far it's only city elections. And what is stopping them from voting in state and federal elections with the same credentials they use to vote in local elections?
Honor System???

ID isn't required to vote and almost all ballots arrive by mail since Pandemic.

I had mom's ballot but she was no longer able to vote on her own so of course it went unused.

Don't know what the future holds but my bet it will be ever more expensive and complicated and those not tech savvy will be the first cast aside.

Just to be direct, what you are saying is that an area with a lot of illegal aliens is a poor place to do business and a lot of California's problems stem from being a sanctuary state. Because "written off" means the taxpayer is paying.

Written off at a for profit means out of the owners pockets.

One local hospital had so many under insured or not insured they sold the entire hospital to the county for $1.

The largest provider of charity care was run by the sisters of charity… and did an excellent job for decades.

The sisters left California when they were unable to get a religious exemption from providing “family planning services”

Taxpayers support several county hospitals plus low income health insurance at little or no cost… here it’s call Alameda Alliance.

There are also publicly funded community clinics and outreach.

Businesses continue to leave impoverished areas looking for greener pastures… just beware some cities now impose additional vacancy tax up to an extra 6k annually…

Taxpayers do pay for much of the US Healthcare at many levels with one of the largest segments being Medicare.

I'd say this means the taxpayers, ultimately. They are the ony ones who cannot escape the burden of all the excesses of the government dole, regulations, failures, incompetencies and taxes.

I guess it's to be expected that insurance rates would rise to account for the increase in cost of materials and labor, which they have to pay for, to honor your claim.

When they more than doubled my Home Owners policy, two years ago, they claimed it was related to materials cost. Specifically lumber.

So with lumber prices coming down.....

See where I am going. LOL.
Lumber might be coming down but labor prices are not and neither are a lot of other goods and services.

Lumber prices are coming down because people are slowing down spending on discretionary home improvements.

I'm one of those people. Times are tight for many.

Lumber prices are also coming down because stumpage prices are down. Stumpage is down because there is currently more timber on the market than sawmills can process, due to forest restoration projects everywhere in the country.

Oh just say it already….
No matter how much propaganda the clowns put out, the economy sucks lol

Everything is up 15-50% in the last 3 years.

They've been devaluing the dollar since 2008 until 2020-2022 when they really went overboard, and there's no sign that they have any plans to do anything except continue the same fiscal and monetary policies.

When housing prices essentially doubled between 2019 and today, that is a heck of a lot of financial burden for ordinary people to bear.

Animal intake at shelters is up over 30% at many animal shelters across the US because people can't afford their pets.
