Problem with those pallets, is how to unload them. I have never seen forks that rotate to the angle to be able to lift the pallet. I think someone has to unload them by hand. Jon
I'm sure he'll just back his new F150 up to it and unload them ALL into his new truck.

Loaded the front two from the sides of the truck, the back from the back

An F-super duty is a strong old truck. They were the F-450 of the time. It would have hauled the concrete if the frame wasn’t compromised by rust. That truck GVW is 15,000 pounds. It would have been overloaded with 9,000 pounds of concrete but not enough to break in half.

Interesting video, with a good outcome of what could have been a very bad scenario. Of course it also appears the the video taker was a complete assh*le driver, what with the horn blowing and lane changing because he wasn't paying attention to what was happening ahead of him and the reason the car had slowed.

Interesting both hitch and safety chains failed. Couldn't tell what kind of break-away brakes it had; didn't seem to work.
I thought the same. In PA, we're required to have a yearly inspection on all trailers with brakes, the sum total of which is usually the inspection tech pulling the rip cord on the emergency brake mechanism, and verifying the brakes work. Those batteries go bad every few years, they don't last forever!

Kinda hard for the safety chains to be of use when the trailer tongue breaks or disconnects mid-way. There definitely should have been breaks though.

My 2021 car trailer has a break-away system with battery. I don't know how to test it, but do ANY of them actually work?

Good catch! I've worked on a few of those hydraulic brake trailer systems. The cross/slider bolts are super critical, this is what happens when they fail. I don't like 'em.

Yes they work. Just pull the pin and try to drive to see if it's working. If you can manually apply the brakes with the controller but they don't work when you pull the pin, either your battery is bad or you have a wiring problem.

Pull the pin on it (Will be at end of cable on trailer). I've done this with my flatbed trailer and my 5th wheel to test. Works as should. Just be sure to put the pin back in...

Safety chains should have been attached to the frame of the trailer, not the sliding hydraulic brakes mechanism.

My flatbed is electric brake though (with chains on frame). 5th wheel is electric, but doesn't have chain restraint.

I get the "pull the pin" part but, does it just go straight back in w/o resetting anything?

Make sure to unplug the trailer plug first. On my Ram 1500, it'll blow the fuse for the service brakes, least ways it did on mine. Not a big fix if you know about it but a real pia if you don't. Factory brake harness and controller.
