good morning, 33 going to 50 today. Rain stopped

High winds yesterday took neighbors tree down and it is blocking somewhat our driveway. The crazy Pond neighbor we will see what he he will do with it.

Brushed teeth on Cody. Trying to do this daily to clean off some tartar and it is improving. A couple of bits of his dry food helps him wanting to do this. Reaching for the toothbrush and he is hopping on to his platform to wait

good trip to TSC, had to dodge a lot of small limbs blown down on road
started to pile rocks around bottom of greenhouse.
I have them, might as well use them. Wind is getting under the bottom, would not be surprised
if it Mary Poppin'd and landed in NJ
nice sunny day at least

I bought some more seed potting mix, will start on the bush beans today.
all the cukes are planted, now the beans. They grow quickly, figuring one month before I put them out.
I still have all the daisies to up pot, quickly running out of shelf space

Nuthatch's are fun birds to watch. Picked up a 10' three point chisel plow yesterday. Had to drag it off the trailer, since my JD855 wouldn't lift it whole. Allis D-17 will need to lift it and pull it. Might need to look for front weights. I'll get it connected today and see what all it needs. A few chisel points, at least. Need to figure out why most are "left' and some are "right" twisted... Pretty quiet here, with no dog around. I keep looking around for a reaction, like when I get up from the chair or have some food.
Going up to 72F today. Wow!
How many shanks on that 10 footer?
On our chisel it's about 50/50 left and right points. When you sink it in the ground and watch how the soil is left will let you know were the points should be.
A 10 footer are you running 2 or 3 rows of shanks?
This is either a 12 or 14 ft, hard ground a 17 couldn't pull it. Good luck

Good Morning.
36° when I got up this morning, wind was already whistling through the trees.
High today in the upper 40’s with winds around 30kts.
Yesterday was mostly in the shop, did some reading and research, cut up some speaker parts for the next batch.

I made 4 baffles for two different models, I figured that should keep me from getting bored.
Got a call from a friend that needed help mounting a 2 cylinder, gasoline engine on his RC Piper cub.

IMG_3938.jpg

We made a simple mount out of aluminum plate, drilled the mounting holes on the Bridgeport to get and accurate pattern.

This morning started with a friend coming by for me to fabricate some repair parts for an aluminum bi-fold hangar door, and then TIG weld them to the broken part to make it as good as new. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of that, but I was focused on recruiting him to install the spindles on the Progressive mower with me. That task is all done.
Next is to go help a neighbor with some wiring. He is installing a bathroom fan, shouldn’t be bad, I already said I won’t be the one crawling in the attic insulation.
Not sure what will be after that.

39F with very bright sunshine @ 11:45, heading up to around 52F for the day's high.

Didn't get a whole lot done yesterday ... other than conserving energy ... ;)

Did get the indoor plants watered and some trimming of the banana tree done.

Woman said I should fertilize it so I ventured out in the garage and dug out one of type of fertilizer to see what its ratio was. Then spent some time looking up what the elephant ear, hibiscus, and banana tree want.

Have several other types of fertilizers that I need to check the ratios on.

All this talk of planting and plants is getting me stoked.

Still have about 6 weeks until the last average frost so it's about time to start getting some stuff going.

Woman picked up a corned beef during Her last shopping trip and cooked that up with some carrots last night using a brown sugar/apricot preserve glaze. Also some cubed oven-baked potatoes with the Lipton Onion Soup mix. Had 2 helpings, was delicious !

Hopper feeder probably due for a refill so will get to that later. Tube feeders might be ready as well, will check.

Then probably back to work in the garage on the wiring and do some further cleaning and straightening up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)

came in for lunch after piling more large rocks around bottom of greenhouse and managed to plug some more gaps.
sun came out, warm enough I had to open the wall vent in the greenhouse to let the highest hot air out.

then I worked on the bush beans, a tricolor mix and an italian green bean. Got those planted and that will be it for today.
I have two full potted trays I want to take out to greenhouse but it's so windy out am waiting for that to die down, would blow my little labels off.

remaining job for today is installing the new rv freezer, which came the day I left. Thank goodness I got home before it started to pour.
will sit between two front seats and help to act as my arm rest. Plus it's easy access to the 12vdc plug.
tomorrow I need to food shop, senior day at supermarket and then come home to do the sound insulation on my rv's inside engine cover.

the sound of the wind is actually noisy
I'm keeping an eagle eye on the thermometer for the greenhouse, hoping it doesn't blow apart like last time.
has a lot more tape, wood and rocks on it now.

RS, all those strawberry plants must be itching to go.
I need to check the soil thermometers, wish they were wireless.
that would be pretty cool

Yup - Woman checked them a while back, said they were looking good under the mulch.

She was wondering when to pull the mulch off.

I figure another month (last frost is around 4/30) ... if it even needs to be done at all.

Might just leave it down and let them poke up through the straw.

Leaving the straw down would give the berries something to lay on and provide some UV protection for the weed block fabric.

I need to check the soil thermometers, wish they were wireless.
