Dealing with an elbow injury right now that I think is a result of doing a lot of firewood in 2023. Splitting by hand, grabbing pieces with my one hand to set back up on the chopping stump. Something as simple as picking up a cup of water by the top of the cup hurts like heck.

That is tennis elbow for me. Starts by "pinching" the end of the wood with one hand (hand over). Takes months to resolve. I try to cup the wood (hand under) and switch between pinching and cupping throughout the day.

That looks like the perfect setup as far as protection short of a cab with your risers. I can't tell from the picture, is that still FEL capable?

EDIT. I clicked on the link and it looks like it is. Do you have a skid plate on it?

WOW, are we just a bunch of old guys on here?? Yes I'm 68 so I fit in, also have had both shoulders redone so I'm doing a bit less cutting and stuff right now. Lately been fighting Plantar facetious in one foot which has flared up my arthritis in my other foot/ankle. Finally getting well enough to go work again which is good because my little sawmill is getting hungry!
OH, and they just replaced the lens in my right eye yesterday for the second time in 3 months, so I'll have to wait just a little longer to get after it again!!

Hope you come together hunt right quickly.
Take some solace in the fact that time goes by much quicker when you get older.
To put a scientific spin to this phenomenon,

Played tennis my whole life including D1 college and never had tennis elbow until now, when I am older......from firewood....LOL!
