Student Loan Debt?

You probably won't believe this but priests are no more likely to be pedophiles than religious from other faiths and less likely than the population as a whole.

I don't defend anyone who does that. I'm with Florida on how to handle.
I took priests to mean anyone in a position of power through religion - deacons, ministers, preachers, monks ...

All I know is that no 6th grader should hear that Father****** just took “so and so” out the the vestibule and felt him up….. and as a young guy, me and multiple kids heard that similar story more times than I can remember.

And in that era, those kinds of actions were way beyond our very innocent and limited imaginations….

I was just very fortunate that I was not one of the popular boys!

They are at low risk of death during their college years.

Using those stats, 29,298 deaths among the approximately 15,400,000 college age students comes out to about 0.19%.

Considering the average annual death rate for all US population is around 0.95% each year, they're far less likely to die in college than the rest of the population.

Well; not arguing that one way or another; but I would hope general population has a higher death rate... Not many 70+ year Olds in college, and we better have a bit more than 1% general population dieing off every year, or we are in real trouble.

Just an example I'll use Notre Dame. Only because I live here, it's easily accessible history.

From here: A Cave of Candles 19

"In 146 years, there were a total of 77 unnatural deaths on campus (accidents, drownings and suicides). The number surprised me and yet it would not have been unusual for a small city such as Notre Dame"

Only 13 were suicides, the rest accidental or drownings. There are 2 lakes on the campus.

Hope no drownings in the baptismal!

Best I can find > US birthrate per day 10k. Death rate 7.5k

Have a friend who went to MTSU in Murfreesboro, Tennessee which is maybe the largest public college in middle Tennessee. She lived off campus in an apartment. The apartment manager knocked her out. I think she said he used a 2x4 and raped her. All the statistics are a bit meaningless until you know someone that has been through something like that.

Same with gender confusion issues.
In an ideal world I'd agree, but that's not what we live in. Some parents take the "my little Johnny would never do that" approach, others are so narrow-minded and rigid that the kids are afraid to approach them about any personal issues. I'm glad I never had to deal with any such issues because my parents would have fit in the latter category. I also learned at a young age that confiding in other adults wasn't a good idea either because whatever I said would likely get back to my parents and would only make things worse.
YMMV

That’s terrible. The father should _____ the MF that did that to his daughter.

Well it should be the world we live in….
Maybe kids should live in a little fear if they think their parents would flip out if they wanted to change genders.
Maybe we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in with all this “32 genders” nonsense???

I went to Catholic school for 8 yrs, was an altar boy etc and never heard anything like that. And our church had a priest who was convicted of molesting kids! It can be something the congregation has no clue about. We also had a lay teacher/BB coach who hooked up with an 8th grade girl, my sister's best friend, and her mother was a lay teacher there. Insane.

Exactly -- so the govt should stay out of a parent/child/physician relationship.
Yep. And to me that especially means teachers and school counselors.
Yet we have school counselors renaming kids to opposite gender names and doing other nefarious things to kids.
That is unacceptable.

As for the dorm requirement, it's supposed to teach the kids to live in a community.
Look at the statistics for freshman dropouts during the 1st year and compare it to freshman in athletics dropout rate. Huge difference. One reason - athletes have an adult on their a** making them attend study table, class etc while the rest are just on their own to figure it out. We could do better than turn a bunch of 18 yr olds who've never been responsible for their living situation, going to class, paying bills and generally living, loose to figure it out in college.

Nope --- teachers aren't renaming kids. State govts are making it a crime for a parent/physician to take care of their child's needs.
