Ok, I guess I'll have to put the chains on. There is a second storm predicted here in the Northeast for Tues into Wed of next week. It's potentially more severe that the one coming this weekend.

I pulled out my fish finder that I use when ice fishing that hasn't been used for almost 2 years.... the battery was still at 94%.

I did break down and get my fuel ordered for the winter 700 gallons of #2 and 100 gallons of #1.

Curious. Why didn't you get 800 gallons and treat it yourself as/if needed?

I put 700 gallons of #2 in the house main tank, then added a 100 gallons of #1 to the half full tractor tank so it's about a 50/50 mix of #1 and #2 with additive.
The other tractor tanks are still mostly full of treated #2.
Once we get snow and ice on the driveway I can't get fuel deliveries up here.
I do have a mobile 300 gallon tank that is useable were ever needed.

I think we bad better get used to their crazy predictions for the rest of the winter. The weather people live for the next storm and the more drama involved, the better. Predicting an inch of snow sounds rather bland, but predicting a foot gets everyone excited regardless of whether you love or hate snow. But since they've had nothing to report for the first six weeks of the winter season each "snow event" as they call it now, will be more intense than the last one. Be prepared for the local stations to send out reporters to give live feeds whenever there is a chance of a snow flurry or two. The schools will all close at the first hint of an inch or two of snow. So get ready, its going to be an an exciting next couple of months.

FEMA alert just came in. Our area should expect 3-6” valley and 6-10” mountains Starting tonight about 10pm. Our area falls in the middle. Last time we got that alert we saw about 1/4”.

I see the upside down smiley face so I'll assume you are being facetious with your comment.

On a more serious vein I am amazed after every power outage the number of people complaining about spoiled food during ice storms and or severe snow storms.

Those summer time ice chests will work very good outside with the lid being opened at the proper times to regulate the temperature either as a freezer or a refrigerator.

Let me rephrase, in my household, they both will spoil (expire) before being used. vitamins and tortillas replace both. current sunny and 40 doesn’t do much for outside storage options either.
