Tools That Are NEVER Used!!

I have a large collection of tools that look just like these that I bought from estate sales over the decades. I guess they are called "buggy wrenches. " I have never found any nut to fit the ones I have.

It has been years since I've used a hand plane or a brace and bit.

The brace used to be good for things like installing gates away from a good power source. But, today, everything has gone cordless.

Don't have any idea where I got them but I have a similar collection.
Also have no idea why I hang onto them.

We hang onto things because life has taught us that something tossed out will likely be needed within a few months for a one off repair. We have all seen this happen and better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I've got tools that can be hard to find. I've got tools that are seldom used. So far - none that are NEVER used.

I've still got this old Mac 35 chainsaw. I haven't run it for years. Made in the 50's. It weighs over 20 lbs. My father used it when I was a youngster.

That’s from when sawyers were real men! Holy cow, do you have to say “hold my beer” before you run that while smoking two cigaretts? I feel my testosterone going up just looking at that!

My old man had a few of these.
He cut mountains of railway ties and hardly had to sharpen the chains. The new ones even see grit at a distance go immediately dull.
Want more power, add more oil to the mix. Smoked like crazy but never had a problem with the carb. New ones are so fussy.
