Temps that high will force me to bring the ladders out and do some touch up work on the house and barn. Touch up usually leads to bigger things .

LS, sounds like you have quite the talent and tools to work that lumber. Would love to see pix of the Ponderosa grain. Those are such beautiful trees...we don't have them here, and never aware of seeing their boards...but probably did and didn't know it while touring out west.

After feeding the birds early yesterday, it hit me that I had a chance to get to Costco before the tire center opened at 8am and get my wheels balanced and rotated. Got there at 7:45 and was guy #5 in line. Yes! When they opened and the first guy got his magnetic sign numbered 1 to put on his roof, we all cheered "you're #1." By then there were about 15 of us. It was like a party. I asked Mr. #1 what time he arrived...7:00am. So, only had a 1.5 hour wait for the free service (but ultimately cost me $270 in other purchases).

Roasted coffee after I got home and put the groceries away. I'm drinking a cup that was grown in Mexico, near Guatemala. Very creamy body.

Dry. Very. No rain in sight.

Yesterdays sink recovery was a bust, guy called while we were on the road to pick them up, after confirming time earlier in the morning, that they were not ready. So now he gets to bring them back and put them where we want them. Too heavy for me to move anyway. Not pleased.

Now the push back schedules have occurred.

A friend helped me move some more furniture into the Milk House yesterday. He was pleased not to have seen the sinks. LOL. It's starting to look nice.

All tile has been selected. So that's the next job.

39 high in 60s very low humidity bad for fires rain now next week it just keeps moving as does snow and cold. December to be mild except first seven days of the month

Buppies, about 30 Virginia National Guard soldiers and airmen got training from the department of forestry on forest firefighting and were deployed to hopefully close the Quaker Run fire so they can be deployed to the other fires. I talked with a National Park Ranger Tuesday who said the status of this fire was looking really good. I saw no smoke plume when I was up there. These folks are heroes.

But now the Tuggles Gap and the James River Face Wilderness are big problems...The JRF Wilderness is over 2,500 acres. BEF, they've closed the Blue Ridge Parkway down that way, from Apple Orchard Mountain to Rte 43 Peaks of Otter.

Good morning! 52˚F breeze is changing today and will be coming from the South, partly cloudy, high in the 60s.

Started off yesterday with a low tire warning and a bubbly confirmed nail in the tire on my Ranger. Loaded it up with air and went to Discount tire for a free fix. While waiting for 2 hours I noticed I would occasionally drop from 8th place to 10th place and when I inquired about it they said the people who had reservations showed up. I called Costco and asked them how long to fix a flat and Costco said they had 4 walk-ins and that the wait would be 2-3 hours. The Discount tire flat wait line is messed up and I will explain that to them if they send me a survey.

I got the flat fixed and tires rotated and just made my new in town 3pm Physical Therapy session. I found Igor's sister. In an attempt to get my leg straighter she pushed my knee down (while I was laying down) until the pain was very uncomfortable and then held it there for 10 L O N G seconds. Repeat. Repeat. Then a bunch of new and challenging exercises for the next hour. Pain pills allowed me to sleep last night. If the saying is right "NO PAIN, NO GAIN", I gained a lot yesterday.

Didn’t notice any smoke coming up Monday. Did see a forest fire west of Knoxville up near Crossville TN.

Nice day today but the Cedar pollen is affecting South Texas. It comes down here from the Hill Country NW of the big city about this time of the year. Gotta try and get some chores done.
