What size battery does an LS model XG 3037. Take?

Don't matter really. Measure the empty battery tray and buy the largest battery that will fit with the most Cold Cranking Amps. No worry about post alignment as you can flip the battery around backwards if necessary.

Worry about the battery height. The post arrangement can be important depending on how long your cables are.

What size battery does an LS model XG 3037. Take?

Does your tractor ECM mount on top of the battery? If so it may be the same as mine and height measurement may be critical.
The stock Battery is 80AH, part #40007051, MF TRG740 as of 11-30-2006.
If you need to replace I'd just pull it out, take to battery or auto parts store and match it up. Maybe get one with more CCA as mentioned above. I'm still on my original battery of 9 years but when I need to replace that's what I'll do.
Batteries are expensive in auto parts stores so I can't even imagine what a dealer would get.
