Here's my peeve... people who don't know what a stop line is for. Especially when they are in the left lane and I'm trying to turn right. I try to stop so they can see past me but too many feel they then need to pull forward, blocking my line of sight.
Yep, that one frustrates me too.

When I went through drivers education as a teenager, I think the law back then was to stop 10 ft. behind the stop sign. I still do it that way but it seems like I'm the only one.

The stop line is a little far out for my liking.

What I hate even more is people who think they have to pull over whenever somebody comes up behind them. My boss is like that... and thinks it's "safer". I prefer to worry about my own driving, and if somebody wants to pass then feel free to do so..
Related, but a peeve I'll never understand: Slow drivers who take it as a personal afront when I pass them. If you want to drive 10 under the speed limit, that's totally fine. But don't get agitated and start dangerously tailgating me when I decide to pass you.

Some people seem to think passing is an attack on them, as if any other motorist even sees them as an individual. You're just another anonymous box on the road, get out of my way! :p

More often, I find slow drivers are just daydreaming. When I pass them, they usually wake up and then keep up with me, without any issue. It's only those with a personality flaw who get enraged over it.

I've had somebody tell me she will intentionally speed up when somebody tries to pass them. In most states that is illegal, but difficult to enforce. My sister's ex-bf killed the driver of an oncoming car and lost his legs after not letting somebody pass. The other driver sideswiped him when pulling in- to avoid the headon crash- and he lost control.
I like to leave enough space in front so that if somebody does perform a stupid pass they have time to get in... I have better things to do with my time than deal with any type of accident.

O

People need to learn it's not personal. The driver wanting to pass you is not even acknowledging you as a human being, you're just another obstacle on the road, moving too slow. You might as well be a box. I will never understand this reaction of being offended when someone wants to safely pass, and just get on with their day.

As to playing a game of keeping me from passing... good luck! :p

Or the ones who'll pull out of a side road without stopping 10' away from you, and then poke along at 10 under...

A peeve of mine is the telephone.
One of the greatest inventions of all time, you could actually call someone or business, their phone rang and a live person picked it up saying hello! Simple and fantastic.
Nowadays the home telephone 95+% of calls are telemarketers! Usually we just turn it off...so a waste of money.
Call a business and it starts off "for English press one, para prensa española dos". I'm thinking: is the the United States? Then "if this is an emergency hang up and dial 911".
Are people that stupid?
Then press or say 1 for this, 2 for that, etc.
Eventually you've pressed 1...3...1...5...8...etc listening to all this then you either get on-hold (music?) or "sorry, leave a message". They never call back.

Back when I was an employee of a tech company, my voicemail greeting said something like, "Leave a message if you want. But if you actually want a response, please email me at ____." At first, management gave me a little bit of a hard time about this, but eventually some of them copied my move.

Short of developing a personal relationship with the customer, which wasn't my job, any business that can be done on the phone can usually be done more efficiently, more completely, and with better documentation to recall the conversation later, though email.

I guess you don't work with folks that send you an email and expect a 32 sec reply to complex questions. Then leave multiple voice mails say they sent you an email, followed by multiple text message telling you check your voicemail. My answer always was I wasted my break time (in field systems integration) reading texts and listening to voice mail that I did not have time to check email until after work.
Another thing I do not miss......

Here’s a new one: Why does almost every commercial on YouTube claim the product is “disrupting the industry” and “taking the world by storm”? I just saw one for a new way to unclog your toilet… hardly something that will ”take the world by storm”.
