Taking off pallet fork receivers from shipping on a bush hog

I'm trying to think of how I can get these pallet fork receivers off this bushhog. The only things I can think to do is:

1. Take off the pin with a socket on the nut, and a screwdriver through the hole, and hope the screwdriver can handle the force I exert on a breaker bar, which is not likely
OR
2. Put a metal blade on a hacksaw or sawzall and cut through the little 1/16in piece of sheet metal holding it to the pin.

Any other thoughts?

Unbolt the pin and done. I’m assuming not welded on the bottom. Don’t over think it.

Unbolt the pin and done. I’m assuming not welded on the bottom. Don’t over think it.

The lift pins holds it on. Unbolt the lift pin and take it off. It's not complicated. A big screwdriver will work fine. There's a decent chance that it'd come off with nothing holding the pin side at all, given that it's new and not rusted yet.

Thanks all, I managed to get it off. I had tried both a screwdriver and piece of rebar prior to this post and was bending both the rebar and the screwdriver.

I wound up heating the living daylights out of the nut with a torch, beating on it a couple times with a small sledge, then retried the breaker bar with a new screwdriver and that worked.

That looks like something that should have been removed when they received it from the shipper.

Glad you got it off.

Makes me glad I have a 3/4" air impact wrench. Would have made short work of it.

Just out of curiosity, were you attempting to use the screwdriver or rebar to turn the pin?

No, I was using the 3/8" rebar and screwdriver to hold the pin so it wouldn't rotate. I have a 3ft breaker bar with a 34mm socket I was using to actually turn the nut, but instead of just the nut turning it was turning the entire pin and while bending my rebar and screwdriver.

The bolt had some rust in the threads directly under where the nut was. Cleaned it up with some steel wool and brake cleaner.
