Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. High 67F. Winds light and variable.
A Fire Weather Watch starts early tomorrow morning lasting through Sunday afternoon. The usual story with low humidity and high winds. Typical for this time of year. Wouldn't be surprised if the power got shut off again by PG&E.

Stopped by the Subaru dealer yesterday to pick up the intake manifold gaskets I ordered a few weeks ago, but the gaskets were nowhere to be found. The dealership had moved and the parts department was a shambles. Clerk said he'd re-order them and they'd be in next week. The old place was always a PITA to visit because there was nowhere to park, but now there seems to be plenty of room. Odd that the dealership would be expanding at a this time of car and parts shortage, but it doesn't seem to be slowing them down at all.

TGIF gang!

Good Morning Guys,
Vt, 54 to start going to 70 ! Sunny skies and it looks to be the last warm day today ! Sunday here looks to be a high of 49 ! 😁

May have to hit the high spots in the lawn one last time and then clean the bottom of the zero turn and put it to bed for the season !

Looking4new, Bill are you anywhere near Hornepayne in Northern Ontario ? Had a friend up there !

Still a little color left but it’s just about done, next rain storm will pretty much kill it !

All have a great day ! 🙏

Yup. We are pretty much done up North, But the oak tree at the rental property still looks pretty good.

62F, overcast, poor air quality. Yesterday afternoon was tee shirt weather. Very nice for late October. I mowed at the farm. The grass has slowed down and there were not too many leaves down. Went pretty quick so I got the lane and the meadows done too. I can probably stretch the mowing out to 10 days or two weeks.

In case you are not quite done with summer.

Take care
Chris

Back home from Mom's 100th birthday celebration in FL. It was great. We are so blessed. Not too many 65-75 yr olds (5 kids) have both of their parents who are 95 and 100 yrs old. First time we were all together in 15 years. It was a very special visit.
but it feels good to be back home on the ranch.
Glad that you got to visit family like that. It all too often occurs for a funeral sadly.

Good morning! 73˚F and staying in the 70s today with cloudy skies and chance of rain.

Very little sleep last night as block and spinal wore off and started taking pain pills too late. Last time the block did not wear off till the next day and I did not sleep one wink. That's why I had to stay the night two years ago - it is hard to pass the walking test with no feeling below the waist. With the complete wearing off of the spinal and block my p is back to normal don't have to wait 2-5 minutes.

Off to the knee flex machine in the other bedroom. Home heath will be here this afternoon to evaluate me. Fist goal will try to get from the walker to the 3 wheel rollator mainly because it has a tray and basket to carry things. It is a good one.
Prayers for pain relief and rest. I know your 'dogged determinedness' will get you through this. Now, you just have to find out if you have a Helga, Olga, or Bertha.

I have about 12 big walnut trees and I HATE them. Very productive. I could walk across areas of the yard without hitting the ground. They also produce a type of toxin, some/many plants can't tolerate. I'm off now, to resume using my shop vac to suck 'em all up, dump into the tractor loader bucket and dump onto the burn pile. and repeat about 15 times... 5 hours yesterday, hopefully finish before noon. Rain, winterish weather coming later tonight.
Heartwood from large black walnut trees, if properly harvested, is very valuable for high end gun stocks etc. Money in the bank if you're willing to cut some of them down.

Did you know that big dogs tend to be laid back?View attachment 828717
Happy birthday Zoe. Socializing of dogs, especially big ones at a young age is SO important.
Popgadget, how would you compare the dog's demeaner? Would it be like a Great Pyrenees or like a Golden Retriever, or what? I've had 2 Goldens and been around many more of them in my life. What great dogs they are. I wished they didn't have cancer genetic problems. A 5lb bag of kibble dog food lasts at least 2-3 months for my chihuahua. Haha.

Glad it went smoothly. Are you getting ready for your PT torturer?
Once I had a PT therapist, about 40ish, and she had some of the most beautiful sensual eyes I've ever seen. I think she recognized me looking at her "like that". (deep into her eyes). I was single at the time. Nowadays, I'd compliment her with "You have very beautiful eyes." And carry on like normal with a smile.
50F cloudy mid 60's for high.

Outside chores done E muffin time. :)
Plans for today...8 hours at part store afterwards stop for critter food, before day light gone putter outside.

Enjoy your day all.
I was wondering if you miss the butcher shop? If I could get auto parts at cost, close to RockAuto prices, I'd contemplate a part time job too. But getting good butcher shop meat deals would be also a nicety.

Good evening all. 66ºF for the start, overcast sky, 3.5 inch in rain gauge, light breeze. Light wind, overcast started breaking up around noon, and high temp was 80ºF, HI 84ºF. Putter to start day, then bike ride, wind increased quickly at start of ride. Trip to town to get lunch groceries and get error code on F150, cat under performing(P0430) :(.
When you're done with your nappy, consider a few things with O2 sensors that I've gleaned over the last year....
Keep fresh O2 sensors in your upstream locations. They keep your engine running at peak fuel/air ratios, they do wear out and are not as effective when they get mileage or age. I put a new one in my car and the mileage went from 28ish to 32ish. My codes went away. If you don't run your vehicle at highway speeds with hard driving to really heat up the cats, they can get clogged up. So if you casually drive to the market a mile away your O2's are not getting a chance to really work.
2nd, the rear O2's have no effect on mileage. All they do is make sure your cats are working. A little bird from a Ford dealership told an acquaintance this, just last week, try putting 18mm anti foulers in your downstream O2's to help with the codes. His F150 has 120,000 miles. Has had the motor replaced at 89,000 and the torque converter replaced last week ($2400). It was shuddering under light acceleration or slight uphill climbs. The motor had lost compression in the back cylinder and was giving a misfiring code. Ford has known about this on the 5.0's and my buddy had to park his truck with 89K for almost 4 months awaiting for an engine to be warranteed. He had purchased warranty through 90k miles, dealer told him even though they knew about the situation, and there was a claim, that he had to not drive the truck so that mileage wouldn't go over 90K. Otherwise he would have to pay the $7500+ for the engine.

Good morning to All from Central Texas,

76 degrees, 75 dew point. (5am). Missed out on most of the rains yesterday, only 0.23" at the house. Rains NW in places were 6-8". Hoping for additional rainfall, then temperatures plummet early next week - highs in the 40's on Monday.
Hay still in short supply after the horrible summer / early fall we had. Hope to get in (1) more cutting ?

Hope all have a great day.
Same for me Spike, about .25" Some places in the hill country a few counties away got 8".

57 outside this AM, heading to 80, again.

Last dance of the bugs. My goodness, I was invaded yesterday.

Hope all have a great day today.

The weekend is here and I am gonna drink some beer!

Be safe. Get well to those ailing.
We have been invaded with Scorpions again. There are still huge cracks in my front/back/side yards that go halfway to china. They must be hiding in them. I go out at night, armed with my Raid Ant and Roach killer spray, and my sketcher shoes, and stomp and spray them. I killed 47 one night. Not a record, but still averaged about 20+ for about a week. Need to go out tonight again....while its not hot or cold.

What time is beer o'clock? I might join you for 1, I'm off today but hopefully will finish the clutch job on the 'yota. Next is A/C and headlights.

L4New, while all the online mechanics hate it, some of my friends swear by the can of freon with leak stop in it if you just have a slow leak. Down here about $25-30 at Walmart with the screw on gage.

Cold weather coming.

RS, you are going to have a beautiful strawberry crop I pray. Leaves and lawn beautiful, about to have to fight the leaf pickup war I suppose.

7040, nice pictures. Prayers for your wife and daughter's safe trip.

Buppies, prayers for you and your wifey too.

I hope you all realize your blessings and are thankful for what you have. Prayers for our team, our nation, Ukraine and Israel.

Good Afternoon,
Chris that video was amazing , I saw some guys doing that down in Pompano,Fl last year, they must have terrific balance ! The best I ever musterd was kneeling on a boogie board ! 😂

Frits, amazing pictures ! My favorite set of doors while visiting in Rome a few years ago were the 40 ft oak doors going into the Pantheon ! Absolutely amazing ! That building was originally built in 79AD, but because of a fire had to be rebuilt !

In a tee shirt up here in Vt, mowed the grass for the last time and shortly will lift the mower up with the tractor and give the deck one final scrapping !

Have a great afternoon !
