Found a 1 inch split in our 4000 gal poly water tank. The tank is 23 yrs old. I ordered a poly repair kit on Amazon. Should arrive this evening. Anybody have any experience with this?
Is there a thread here with this discussion?

Good Morning Kilroy,
I couldn’t agree more on the water heater maintenance! What I do is occasionally shut the heater down and drain it off into the basement sump ! If nothing else it helps get the crap out of the bottom of the tank !

59F going to low 60s. It has been raining with a chance of more.

I did a lot of mowing yesterday. Mowed the front yard here at the house in the morning the dew hadn't dried. In the afternoon I mowed the lawn at the farm. It wasn't quite dry there either. The grass was long and juicy so there were clumps. It didn't look it's best. Mowed the farm lane. The meadows looked OK so they will wait till later. I don't know when I will get to the back yard here at the house.

Several of our friends and family have been bit by the alligators. A couple have almost 4 years without getting it. Fortunately no one ended up in the hospital.

Take care.

Chris

Second shingles shot gave me a 100.8 fever last night. Arm is still sore, but not feeling too bad this morning (normal temp too). I had Momma deer and her two kids munching on my crab apples last evening, with the harvest moon coming up in the background.

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 55 going to 60 with heavy rain ! Glad I got the Ct lawn mowed yesterday, because it looks like rain today and tomorrow!

M7040, thanks ! I started my apprenticeship in 1972, and I didn’t buy my first Gerstner chest until about 1988 ! At the time my chest cost just south of $400, I can’t imagine what that goes for today in todays dollars with the inflation that we have !

I designed my chest very closely to my Gerstner but the design is mine. One of my biggest concerns was the thickness of the drawer bottoms ! I decided to use .090 thick 6061 aluminum for strength and lightness ! I’m hoping that when I’m gone one of the grands will take an interest and keep it.

Oh how are world has changed ! Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! Praying for Our nation ! 🙏
The Gerstner show talked about passing on the chests to the grandkids because their kids were mostly at mid carrier and the grandkids were just starting theirs

Morning all, 57 going up to 61 and cloudy, more rain later.
Procedure did not find issue, but did find no that I don't have other problems.
MRI to be scheduled.
Drew - propofol on me yesterday- woke up refreshed and no headache, great stuff

Will work on the garage sheetrock tomorrow during the rain.
Still need to aerate lawn, but it's too wet, Maybe Monday it will be dry enough.

Trees changing and many of them are putting out berries that the squirrels love, Though the foxes thinned out the squirrels, there are still a few around. All the rabbits seemed to have disappeared too.
Hummindbirds went nuts on feeder, and now they have flown off south.

The new boiler has a cleaning loop built in and some valves to isolate while cleaning, pretty neat feature. No anode in either storage tank. They don't have heating elements, just Hot Water coils.

Over voltage can do a lot of damage.
Line transformers sometimes have limiters.
Sound like the line transformer needs to be replaced or the feed to it is too high.
They are really just step down transformers with some current protection.
having the line above 250V should not happen, but 250V is in range.
Which is why they are not too concerned if it hits 253.

Be well,

We have Blacksmith classes at the local farm museum. A couple of our kids took classes and learned the basics and made some nice items in the class.

And the homemade ice cream shop is just above the farm... yummm.

Some of you might remember a former TBNer, Ed of all Trades, he did blacksmith work. I met him for breakfast once a few years back.

picked up 6 gallons of water for the rv and home, bought another powerball ticket, and home to clean house.
vac and mop done
hasn't started to rain again, already have 1.5
might sneak out and see what I can fiddle with on rv.
it desperately needs a wash, I hosed most of salt residue off but it is covered in greasy road dirt.
waiting for the rain to stop before I start. Though I might get a start on some things, like all the chromed door latches
which while previously waxed now feel all crusty. Salt on metal, just like termites. So I might go out and preclean a few spots.

Tomorrow after I hope things have dried off, or maybe Sunday, I need to clean out the garden. Only some peppers left and it's a giant mess.
when it's cleaned out I'll rake in my worm castings and let them enrich the three raised beds over the winter.

still have clothes to put away but getting down to end of it. Mop n glo drying, then ready to head out for some fresh air.

need to find three very large mums for my outside pots for the Fall. That is now a reality since I'm home to water them.

finished up my trip planning for Florida in mid November. 3 weeks on the road, my longest trip. One reason I was stocking up on water.
you can't drink the tank water in an rv so you have to haul all your drinking water with you. I have four gallons onboard now. Can always buy another gallon
while in Florida while at friends who take me to supermarket before I head home. This will be my last trip for awhile, no desire to drive in bad weather.

now to call local pharmacy and make appt for flu and covid shots. They also do RSV but can only get two shots at a time
