Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 5:00AM. Sunny skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 78F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
Looks like rain showers overnight into tomorrow, but not much accumulation, especially compared to what the east coast is getting right now. Maybe 0.1" by the time it's done.

Got a call from the contractor that installed the new pressure pump on the well letting me know he was in the area and could stop by and finish the temporary repair he started a few weeks ago. Took him less than an hour, and he still refused payment. Nice to find someone that stands behind their work.

Noticed that grid voltage had climbed over the 253 VAC limit and the deep well pump was no longer running. More calls to PG&E this morning.

Reviewed the termite work proposal on the new home yesterday, and decided not to have the dry rot in the porch cover repaired. It's something I can do myself without too much trouble, and I already have the right paint to finish it off. Drilling the concrete floor in the garage and injecting termaticide is something I'm quite happy to hand over to the pros, though, so that's on the schedule for next Friday.

Put more time in on the bike, getting the rod, piston, cylinder, and head installed on the side that ate the valve. Got a start on the other side by installing the push rod tubes into the cylinder, but first needed to make a little die to expand the old tubes to make a good interference fit. That's when I found that the digital readout on the lathe had died, and I'm not looking forward to that repair bill. If it can be repaired at all. So it'll be back to hand cranking and reading dials for the foreseeable future.

If I don't waste too much time on the phone today I should get the other side of the engine put back together, and maybe get the exhaust done, too. Finally seeing some empty boxes on what has turned into a storage table.

TGIF gang!

61 cloudy and spitting a little, going to 73.

Buppies, terrible about your paver.

Mostly, got to hold her a good while...at this hospital, the baby stays in the room with the mother 24 hours a day...they go home today. The blacksmith had made some beautiful tools and art...even had made some fancy wizard wands that "really work" - if you find the one that is right for you.

Also at the state fair, we watched the pig races, Calf roping at the rodeo, and the goat judging...which was especially nice since we used to raise and milk goats.

That tool chest is beautiful craftmanship. Saw the Gerstner chests costing thousands. Using the wood chests protects from rust
Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 55 going to 60 with heavy rain ! Glad I got the Ct lawn mowed yesterday, because it looks like rain today and tomorrow!

M7040, thanks ! I started my apprenticeship in 1972, and I didn’t buy my first Gerstner chest until about 1988 ! At the time my chest cost just south of $400, I can’t imagine what that goes for today in todays dollars with the inflation that we have !

I designed my chest very closely to my Gerstner but the design is mine. One of my biggest concerns was the thickness of the drawer bottoms ! I decided to use .090 thick 6061 aluminum for strength and lightness ! I’m hoping that when I’m gone one of the grands will take an interest and keep it.

Oh how are world has changed ! Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! Praying for Our nation ! šŸ™

RNG, as voltage goes up, what would first components be that failed, resulting in a need for overvoltage protection, fuses, etc
I'm scratching at some old Radio Shack knowledge here, but what component limits voltage? I guess none if protective devices are needed.
Most of us worry about low voltage, brownouts. Like the 98 volts I saw on my rv, after my a/c died. Guy came out, said it was not their problem.
Ten minutes later, I saw 123 volts. Un huh.

more volts, less amps, that's always good, and hopefully less heat.
am curious what voltage by itself does. Euro 50 hz and our 60hz easy to understand.
And we all know you are likely to cook a 120 appliance if you somehow are able to feed it 240.
does the transformer overheat?

am quite sure you'll figure this out. Shows importance of gauges and monitoring.
at 9 bucks a piece my little wall voltage gauges are a bargain, showing 122 now.
Nice to leave them plugged in and always working, unlike a multimeter, rewinding the probes, etc.

Good morning
It’s 58 and not going to change much today. Overcast with rain throughout the day, 1-1/2ā€ so far.

Yesterday, I did get the final approval on my TSA project, picked up a few sheets of Baltic Birch and got started on the speakers before heading out to the airport. It was actually sunny and warmer in Concord, NH than it was here. It was raining by the time we got back.
Did have a nice meal at Mission BBQ, I got the special, smoked ribeye. It was very tasty.

When I left the restaurant I noticed a police car just sitting in a parking lot next store. Then it dawned on my that Philadelphia has had episodes of random looting the last few nights, I’m guessing he was there as a deterrent.

Actually remembered to take the trash and recycling to the street when I got home. Didn’t hurt that my wife pushed the toters off the garage where I couldn’t miss them….
Today should be wood work and hopefully music tonight. It will feel odd not to have any pressing tasks sitting in front of the computer.

Found a 1 inch split in our 4000 gal poly water tank. The tank is 23 yrs old. I ordered a poly repair kit on Amazon. Should arrive this evening. Anybody have any experience with this?
Is there a thread here with this discussion?
