Around here it has to be 50 A

I actually just ordered a ChargePoint 50 amp charging station. When I built the house 40 years ago, I ran a piece of 6/3 from the unity room in the basement to the garage, so I figured I shouldn’t let it go to waste, as I also had a 50 amp two pole breaker to fit my panel on the shelf.

good morning all
a very pleasant 69 out now going up to 77 in sunshine.
sure doesn't get much better than that, and if the wind stays at 12mph as they predict, it should be a fun day for both kites and the camera drone.

seems odd to sit here quietly, without wind noise, jiggling around.
was jiggling so much at one point not only did it remind me of a boat, but also of the Amtrak on bad track going to florida. Constant jiggling.

folks next door brought a smoker and invited me over for dinner tonight.
that was sure nice of them. We met after my bike helmet blew off the bike and rolled over to his site. Two very long time buddies, both with 42 foot giant fifth wheel trailers, pulled by giant trucks. And they like to drive fast, extolling how they pulled their rigs at 75mph.

boy did I keep my mouth shut on that one. Too much testosterone I guess, couple of Virginia guys with big tires and big attitudes.
I think it was mostly guy talk. I just nod and smile and think better you than me friend. And the one guy told the other friend one of his tires was getting really worn. Yeah baby, let's go 80mph on that one.

beach cart is going to get a workout today.
finally a nice day to enjoy this very pretty part of NC

like Kilroy and others, I grew up on LBI but now I drive all the way
to NC to OBX. funny how over the years those beaches have gotten those acronyms as standard. On a million bumper stickers reliving good memories I guess. Actually there are very few rv places near shore in NJ, and nothing near the beach. Nothing near water in Cape May or places I'd want to go. Probably up in the n/w mountains there are nice places but I have that half an hour away from home at a nearby lake.

there is an rv place right near the statue of liberty surprisingly.
driving there, from experience, is a real headache going through some truly ugly industrial real estate in Bayonne area. I surely do understand why Kilroy moved to get cleaner air.

this is too long, sorry. good coffee...

good morning, 59 going to 65 and raining much needed

Not much on the agenda today other than staying dry

Mostly, Gov employees will be paid after the shutdown ends. Essential employees will work without pay until it ends

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

49.4F going to upper 70s, partly/mostly sunny.

Harry was ecstatic to be picked up, finished a big bowl of food and promptly went to bed. Ball of energy this morning…

Church, then trip to woodlot without dogs, with the splitter, to try and finish up the last of that pile of firewood (or as much as possible) so it can start being transported home for stacking. While Mrs is running splitter, I will do final grading for where the carport will be attached to the back of the shed, so that the excavator has a good home for the winter.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Among the many factors fueling the decision to abandon the land of my birth, the gritty harsh scenery and air quality are down on the list of reasons.

i used to joke that the air in the mountains was too clean and I had to lock myself in the shed and run my chainsaw for ten minutes so I wouldn’t go into withdrawal…

63 and misty, going to 69. Rainfall ended up a bit over 4.5 inches from Ophelia.

Check, real nice...real nice.

Lou, cool that you got a couple of pulls. Nice looking track/stadium.

We mostly stayed inside during the rain and wind yesterday...a little walk during a lull...watched an old funny Adam Sandler movie.

Good morning! Summer's back! 78˚F heading to 102˚. Heat advisory has been issued the 1st day of Fall heat index up to 110˚.

Railings installed, only one trip to hardware store for sheetrock anchor bolts. It was too hot to mow the yard yesterday and today is a no go also. They should make a small electric riding mower with an A/C cab.

57° with light drizzle
Rained a lot last evening, a local weather station reported 2.4”. Almost that at home also.
Most of it is over here. It looks to be pulling away from here, but might get a little yet.
Going to worship in a bit.

Good morning. A balmy 78F and humid this morning. Record heat yesterday over 100F. Have to say it felt "normal", although I stayed mostly indoors until the evening.

Glad that at least the storm brought some needed rains to the eastern coast.

Son got to go to the Aggie football game yesterday. Packed house the radio guys said. Brutal heat too. A&M has 3 deep depth on both O and D lines this year. That's a good thing for hot days like yesterday. The defense played better than they did against Miami (where their great QB picked us apart).

Headed to different church early to get in some Bible study. We are going to a different church about 20 minutes away that a dear friend has become their pastor. It is not necessarily a long term solution. Pastor at our old church, not being what my wife and I feel what a pastor should be. We have had youth on Wednesday nights for like forever, now he announces to have youth confirmation on Wednesdays (which takes kids away from our program). We moved youth night to Mondays, only to be told that Mondays are used by the Trail Life group. Well, our friend called the Trail Life people and asked if they are using that building, and they said "no, they are using the other fellowship building". Pastor was told this, and he relented. Our youth night is our church's best outreach, getting kids to come that don't have a church or a family that takes them to church. Pastor was asked "Why don't you have youth confirmation after Sunday's service at 10 am - noon" He said that won't work for his wife. So, his wife is a great person but I just am wondering if the Pastor knows my wife and I are unhappy with him and trying everything to subterfuge anything we do with the church? My wife won't let our son go to his confirmation classes. I take communion in the other line. Sad.

check, Ron, beautiful photos. Thank you.

Lou, looks like you had the weights just about perfect. Nice wheelie at the end with a soft let down.

PopG, the literature says the Advanced model has a really premium sound system. I hope you enjoy it.

Mostly, a frozen micrometer? What do you use it on spokes for? I found a cheapie old micrometer at work frozen. I would swear the threads are galled or fully rusted internally. I can't get it to budge by hand. Next attempt will be tightening it in a collet to try and break it free.

David, nice mower. Considering it's already right there on the island, someone had to pay shipping. So the price must have fit the need.

Ron, hope you got a good fridge. I shopped for the simplest model, to avoid circuit boards and such. So far, so good. How old was your old one?

Hope and prayers for our team, our United States of America, and for Ukraine. I may have heard something about Zelensky fired many of his top military leaders. I wonder if it is due to corruption or lack of motivation, effectiveness, or what?
