Good Morning!
God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).
55F going to upper 70e, sunny all day.
Anniversary trip went quite well, even though the knucklehead drivers were out in force yesterday!
Buc-ees is an absolutely crazy place! Picture if RaceTrac and Walmart had a kid

something that impressed me was the restroom - it was huge, it was bright, and it was clean in spite of the number of users. I a,pm pretty sure the cleaning agent and is stationed full-time inside, because both times I went in (about 30 minutes apart) it was being worked on. Another thing was the stalls for commodes were behind real doors, not privacy panes, and each one had a red&green light above to show if occupied or not. Same with the urinals not having panels - each one separated by a real tiled stub wall Instead of panels. Bonus is that on each of the stub walls there is a hand sanitizer dispenser.
also impressive was the quality of the brisket meat, especially for the price! Now, I do not sauce my brisket, the sandwiches are pre-sauces, but it is not excessive or drippy, and it was tender enough to make Mrs happy — I know she enjoyed it because she finished her sandwich before I did!!!!
then a little shopping for Mrs, finished up at the Dolly Parton Pirate Dinner Show.
Outstanding performances by all the actor bats and performers, great visuals, I did think the sound was a little off on some of the mic levels. We went to the Hatfields&McCoy show Last year (same outfit) and the sound was spot on, so I do have something for comparison. Another difference was in the food compared to last year, since they are basically the same menu (just the names changed to suit the show) is that the quantities were somewhat reduced (one piece of chicken instead of two, a small half of potato instead of a larger bowl of mashed, biscuit only instead of biscuit and cornebread, apple pastry instead of apple pastry with ice cream). Best economy ever, Jack!
Driving home over the mountain in the dark is always fun (for me at least - I LIKE driving.. Mrs is not a fan…) except for the inevitable idiot who is in a big hurry going up the mountain and has to hang 5 feet behind you with high beams on (I pulled over at a wide spot and let him go) and took great joy when, a few moments later, he got stuck behind a slower large rurally pickup who was high enough to not be bothered and big enough not to care…
Truck pulled into the rest area at the State Line, and tough guy was afraid to go fast down the hill. I, for my part, tried to help by providing some extra illumination for him with my high beams… aint I a nice guy?
today will be dropping mom off after her visit, a quick trip to UPS box to pick up mail and packages, trip to woodlot with Bailey before picking up Harry from his little vacation at Doggie Boarding.
I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!
