Got an hour of mowing or should I say slashing with the modified chain mower... it does a heck of a job. Cuts closer than a blade mower.

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

62.2F going to low 80s, cloudy day, chance of scattered PM showers.

went to chiro in the morning, got some good pops, got a laser treatment for some tendinitis in my elbow, felt good. Have to se if insurance covers it. Doc said they don’t, I said put in a claim anyway, otherwise the rewult is an automatic no…

one of the last two remaining vacant lots in the subdivision recently sold, to a home builder, and they had started cutting down trees and burning the waste, but the day before we saw some massive logs being added to the burn pile. On the way back from the chiro, they big boss was there,now we stopped and inquired about the logs. He is burning the pine because it isn’t worth it for him to haul to the pulp mill for the price versus his volume and capacity per load and fuel, he keeps the hardwood for his own sawmill. We said we’d take the big pine logs and the Smallwood hardwood so he wouldn’t have to waste time with burning the big pieces, and we wouldn’t have to split the small hardwood. He likes that idea. Long story short, a half hour later he comes and delivered a dump truck load of logs in our driveway and we are very happy and so is he.

As he leaves, he says “that should keep you busy for a while!” I replied - it will probably be mostly processed by the weekend and he looked shocked. So now we are on a mission. And hopefully another load of wood. I have no problem burning pine, because I segregate it from the hardwood and season it an extra year, so what I trim and split off the logs for our mill gets marked “26”.

we then took the dogs up to the woodlot for a walk and I retrieved my big saw and we spent about two hours making that pile manageable and moving pieces to a less obstructive location. Once the sun comes up I will post a photo of that result.

today is some admin stuff in town, followed by house puttering.

Outside chores done E muffin time.

Morning all, 62 going up to 85 and supposed to be sun coming up.
Replaced surge protector on mini-split, now working.
Cleaning out basement around oil burner, replacement starting on Monday.

So we will end up with a storage tank on the oil burner so it can sense the temp of the water and use that to mix in hot water from the solar tank. A little less efficient than going tankless, but will lower costs a lot in the summer.

We won't use apple maps after almost getting wife into a series of last second, "make a turn" and getting her lost a few times. Google maps for us.

We have had way over 2" of rain in the last 3 days, pools is full and leafs are falling and need to clear the skimmer out a lot, getting close to time to close it.

Sodamo, like the ostacked chlorinator, let me know if you have any questions, mine has been trouble free for 6 years so far. Do you have the ability to take the plate section out for cleaning? We have not had to clean ours yet, just a quick brush out when we remove it for the winter.

If it dries up enough I can finish the trimming out front and around the yard, have about 3-4 hours left, but it's been too wet. Then need to clean up the trench where it leaked a bit when we had the 7" of rain.

Maybe even get to buck some trees and split some firewood this weekend!

Everyone is busy me I have no energy got 5500 steps yesterday feel asleep at 9:00 last night freezing cold house at 69. One coworker sick that of year I suppose.

Don yes for a day or three will lows hit California it’s over bonus you get rain. Lee sets the stage

Funny that you should mention that ! I have a neighbor in Ct diagonally across the road from us, he is planning on doing the same thing ! Both trees are poplars also. I walked by today and pointed it out to my wife, and she was not too happy about it ! He also has one large one farther onto his property, that when it does fall, he is going to be stuck with that cleanup ! Cant make this stuff up !

There are same neighbors 4-5 winters ago made no attempt to have snow remove from there driveway,started to park both vehicles at turn round for school bus,finally the highway department and police put stop there parking,There way of thinking good lord put it there and he take care of it,all I said to him maybe good lords very busy for while and $150.00 for towing plus ticket better come up with back up plan....they are both high dollar doctors certainly can afford it plus.
