Good morning!!!!

90/99 overcast and grey
118V showing at outlet, grid must be getting quite a workout

Don, have you checked your voltage?
I have several of these little readouts in the house, one in garage
lot easier than sticking a VMM in the hole...

Thanks for the link Drew, ordered one. Do you ever get 120v?
108˚ at the beginning of the witching hours (5-9PM) Grid is holding.

Don, normal is 120 or 121
except on a number of outlets when either an electric heater or major kitchen appliance
is turned on. Then voltage drops to 118. Old house and wires...
Highest I've seen is 122
Lowest is 113
Anything below 116 gets my attention, increased amp draw is never good
At 113, I think I'd start turning things off....or....turn on the generator.
Mine puts out 118 under full load
nice having this little readout right next to my desk

even better would be to have one with an alarm at a settable point

Don, I think 108 is not good for your hvac compressor.
anyone else have thoughts? (although maybe it's running on 240...that reading would be interesting)

Don,
you might experiment by turning off any high consumers, like your a/c, for just a little
and then recheck the voltage
but your place is new with fully to code wiring, mine is not.
I did see Romex in the basement, don't think that goes bad quickly.

I can see voltage sucking down under load a little.
some things like electric heaters seem pretty unaffected by voltage.
I thought low voltage was death on certain compressors.
Most electronics are pretty lenient and allow a wide range of input voltage,
but again pays to be safe

are there any things we normally own that should get turned off before
a low voltage situation continues?

we all have houses and we all have wiring and appliances and we all need power
so this affects all of us

Chris, good point, never thought about my big APC UPS, but don't know what the low voltage threshold on that is.
that might be worth looking up

back down to 118 right now, so clearly lot of voltage swings here.

Got Deco mesh system installed. Not too bad, but still can’t connect one thermostat and the weather station.
It did default to an IP that I had to change. Actually it says weather station is connected, but it’s not updating info.
Other thermostat took many tries for it to work, but I’ve messed with upstairs for over an hour with no luck.
Will have to see how it works long term. Put the Starlink router in bypass, so don’t really need the new one they are sending, but I’ll swap them. If something fails on deco, that will be the backup.

Got wind, thunder, but NO RAIN!!
