I have been a volunteer in our local FD for 40 years,
you have some fellow firemen here, TXDon has been one for many years

I had to quit when I wrecked my back the first time
Good Morning Drew,
Thanks, always a pleasure to meet others that serve their community ! I served as an officer, 2nd LT, 1st Lt, Captain for 6 years. Also I served on the Board of Fire Commissioners
for 9 years, and chairman of that board for 3 years.

Im still involved, driving apparatus to calls and serving on a couple diffferent commiittees !

Hope your new e-bike is working out well !

Have a great day !

picked up an artichoke for tonight's dinner.
Going to take scissors and cut off the leaf ends, at least the outside ones
and then boil it slowly covered in a 4 qt pan. Have no idea how many minutes, but that's one
big tough veggie

unless someone tells me I should wrap it in a wet towel and microwave it...
My mother loved artichokes and whenever they were on sale, she would buy them.
We went through a lot of butter.
Of course when your grandfather made his living in the butter and eggs business,
well of course butter was to be promoted.

and then what to dip the leaves in, other than butter. Have been a butter dunker all my life.
I bet salad dressing or light sour cream would be healthier
sorry Grandpop.

I wonder if Kilroy's earlier relatives in that area ever went to downtown Newark and saw the big
black sign with the white cow on it. It was torn down a long time ago. 30 years ago I drove to the
alleged location, could not find anything, went to local firehouse and asked who the oldest
fireman was. Of course I told them I was an active volunteer fireman, which I was.
So out comes this old bent over guy in a suspenders outfit that I had to yell at
and sure enough, he remembered the cow. Big white cow.
Gosh I wish I had a picture of it.
I did find the home my grandfather built and where my Father was raised. That was pretty neat.

some of these ads are just marvelous. You could say literally anything.

Good morning , 70 going to 85 and sunny.

Sodamo = I have salt water if you need any info. I love it so far, 5 years in.

Will need to change headlight bulb on Jeep, it's working but dim, so will do that later.

Decided to drill through for the rest of the wire run, so that's on the schedule today.

Some more rain last night, so no watering needed for a while now.

Be well,

69°F and .17 inches rain.

HH was fun yesterday. Plenty of delicious Italianish food. Nobody actually Italian. My garlic bread must have been good, only 3 pieces came back home.

Not ready to start any big projects, so some more piddling around.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

75F and mostly cloudy @ 12:30, heading up to around ... 73F ???

Sun has just come out.

Had some pretty heavy rain roll though in the early hours around 04:00 or so after raining all day yesterday on and off ... chance (30%) of showers this afternoon, then starting to clear by this evening.

Low pressure system spinning over around Toledo/western end of Lake Erie.

Did not get any feeders filled yesterday, was mostly an energy conservation day.

Did get the freezer largely cleaned out and garbage taken up to the can at the road, probably a little more in the bottom drawer that can go ... but it will have to wait to next week. Nice to have the room ... and a little more organization ... ;)

Not much on agenda for today at the moment.

Probably head over to the barn later if the rain holds off.

Otherwise take the day as it comes.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

Neat love the add. Old timers that remember is pretty cool.

Did a waste treatment project a long time ago at one of the Texas utilities power plants and with no drawings left of it from 1918. There was this old guy that remembered the excavations for it back then and sure enough we found it

drove into town. Lunch at chipotle. Drop off Amazon return on a dashcam. I liked the camera, but had several instances where screen went solid green or orange, and had ti reboot it. Then it would also freeze, or randomly reboot. When it worked it had amazing 4K video.
Might try another one of same kind to see if I just got a bad one.
Wife went to Walmart.
88° and storm clouds forming. Someone will get something.
