Just realized I didn’t post yesterday. Was up very early to take Sophie to the airport. Off to AZ for sisterly visit. Me and the boys will be baching it next 3 weeks.

The pictures and news out of Maui just tragic. So much devastation.

Looks like it may well be an inside day

79F and a mix of sun and clouds @ 13:30, heading up to around 80F for the day's high. HI 80F, DP 61F, HU 58%, AQI 54.

Rain rolled in a bit after midnight. Woman said it was still raining at around 08:00 when She woke up this morning ... Standing water/puddles are back.

Closest LWS reports that we got 0.31" since midnight. WU daily summaries now appear to be back online ... but I'm noticing that they don't always reset at midnight ... at least on one station I've looked at. Not sure if that's a WU or end-user issue. Somewhat disappointing at any rate.

Starting to run low on step-in fence posts, although there are still 6 from the last Menards order in the back of the car. Wish I had picked up more when they were on sale ... Probably can scavenge a few more from around the garden area. May have enough one more bed area.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Dole out meds (another week gone by ... )

Tighten connections on plumbing under kitchen sink so Woman will have both compartments available for use.

Refill bird feeders.

Mix up another batch of glyphosate in the 2 gallon sprayer.

Go get Cub and dump cart out of the barn.

Check garden for any intrusions + see if anything needs harvested.

Check front lawn to see whether it needs cut, and if so, is dry enough.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Sodamo, glad all is okay with you "and the boys." It looks like bach it all of the time.

Only been spitting rain, so I've been outside getting a few things done...one of which is working on our mailbox, which was struck by a "shiny black pickup" yesterday evening. Our neighbors were out walking after dinner and came up our drive to tell us our mailbox was on the side of the road, where they moved it out of the road, along with new looking pieces of yellow "turn signal" plastic.

Apparently, it happened while my wife was out watering her flowers because she heard a loud noise. looked up and saw the pickup speeding away...based on the 100 feet of tire track in the shallow ditch where our box was located, he's lucky he didn't totally lose control. The post is salvageable, and that's what I've been working on. The box itself has to be replaced.

I was in the barn at the time, ripping a flap of skin off the top of my hand, based on a stupid-fast-pivot-move I made while holding onto a battery, which helped smash my hand against the edge of a post. My wife patched it up, but still in bad shape.

Enjoyed seeing the Virgin Galactic flight into "space." this morning. These are always fascinating to me...this craft was so different than Bezos' Blue Origin. Today they didn't look like full weightlessness to me...only their long hair seemed to float.

Got .12" of rain so far. Really should have been doing something useful, did some computer stuff.
Wife back from womens lunch. I should get gas in the truck and fill some cans, but was kind of thinking of waiting and filling gas cans in VA whenever I get there, as it will be $.30 cheaper per gallon....

Good Morning, 64 going to 85 today no rain

Making some brackets for the RTV to be able to carry the Makita trimmer without laying across the load bed. Painted them yesterday and looking to cover them with something to not scratch up the trimmer. Perhaps rubber strips from tractor inner tube

Will get the PT done early today. And still more firewood to stack

Watched some overland travel videos going around the world in 3 years. Next segments going across Canada

Sorry, Ken. Yesterday just kinda got away from me. Early trip to airport, then got involved and lost trying to get some VA stuff done, plus lots of queries as to our status re the fires. Normally, I check in TBN first thing, but not 4AM, then kinda forgot with everything else going on. My bad.

I kept it general and not too specific.... But I was 100% sure you were more likely having rain rather than fire on your side of the island. Glad your wife's flight got out OK. Horrible fire on Maui, have been to Lahania.
