I need to do ditches at angles I don't think I want to traverse with the tractor.

The only other option would be a MASCHIO boom mounted orchard and vineyard crop shredder/verge mower.

I found about 8-10 brands that have that type of mower. I suspect a few of them are the same manufacturer, much like tractors often are rebranded. Prices (and maybe quality) run from the low $3k to mid $9k range.
