good morning all

Ron, awesome picture. I would not want to be a big bug near them, those eyes are almost creepy in their intensity.
interesting the different colors in the eyes coordinating with body red

slept well last night, cool morning, another nice day before rain finally arrives tomorrow.

you guys with your motorcycle stories are a prime motivation for me to wear a helmet.
My neighbor across the street, an ex local police officer, is crippled up and drags a leg from a major
cycle accident where a deer ran out and got him at 50mph. He almost died and must have broken half his bones.
Permanently disabled and cannot drive. Not good.

And then Popgadget almost bought the farm on a motorcycle.

like you can still drown in a foot of water, I can still break my neck going 10mph but just have to be careful.
Trying to stay off crowded roads.
no plans for today. How nice. Plumber comes at 8am, will be nice to be able to run the dishwasher, running out of coffee cups.........oh no.

I called rv place yesterday, after taking it in on Saturday, to get an update. Haven't even looked at it yet. Sigh.
Thankfully not going anywhere until later next month.

I called local Ford dealer and asked them to confirm that I could order an F150 with max towing and ecoboost engine. They simply did not know and said
he'd call me back. No call back. Took GM guy three days to call back and say no you can't.
if used 3/4 ton diesels weren't selling for close to the price of new, that seems to make more sense. Even a gas 3/4 ton for a 10k rv makes sense; I have plenty of pull, need
more weight and whoa.

my older brother suggested adding another week to my trip, staying longer at several places to rest, and perhaps keep my current Class C.
maybe. I sure am not paying list price for a 70k truck.

got my reservation at Camp Hatteras in Rodanthe, Outer Banks NC for late September. Should be a nice time to spend a few days at the beach.
was very surprised to be able to get a spot right next to beach. Can't see the beach, but close walk, in the yellow section.
Drew here are the specs on my Gas rig. The 6.4L HEMI® V-8 OHV engine with VCT technology that powers the 2022 Ram 2500 series can produce up to 410 horsepower. The engine also generates 429 lb. -ft. of torque, which allows the Ram 2500 to tow up to 17,540 lbs

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

68.7 going to mid 70s, rain/showers/t-storms all day. Drizzling now.

little furry nocturnal flying squirrel was out again. My mother gave me a spray bottle of critter repellent that she uses with her vegetables to spray on the house. I hadn’t gotten around to it, but I waited very still and quiet until he appeared on the windowsill and gave him a blast of spray to the face. Maybe he will get the idea…

Administrative day today, pick up some stuff for mom at the store, help Mrs start sorting and inventorying the doll collection. Got a message from the gentleman who said he has another plastic tote of dolls to give us, and he will be in town next week Fo go to the VA facility here, so he can deliver. We will take him to lunch.

Druggies we’re out creeping about, Harry is a good watchdog — full maniacal running the fence line while howling and barking. Good puppy.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

thanks. How much does your truck weigh?
I want to tow 10k. As I expected, gas 3/4 ton gets the job done. And diesel remains high.

I'm currently getting 10 mpg. From everything I've read that's average and expected.
Sure don't want to go below that. Like I do when pulling my trailer and golf cart behind the motorhome.
Plenty of power but my does that V10 suck gas.

I can't imagine at my age needing a vehicle like this for more than 20-30k of rv driving. When I'm done, I'd sell it and get
a car again. So based on not a relatively lot of miles being expected, poor return on investment for diesel.
I'll take half the difference in the 11 grand truck price and pay for all my trip gas. Relatively short sighted, but then my
horizon isn't overly long...

I'm more interested in what truck is quieter. They all will have enough power, and looks like at best I'll get adaptive cruise, not something
more intelligent. Too bad, in another couple of years, everything I want now will likely be standard then.

just like a tractor, weight is important and a limiting factor

Morning all, 67 going up to 82 and cloudy.
Birthday dinner was at a place I wanted to try for a while, was ok, don't feel older.

I have a titanium rod and screws in one arm from a slide out on ice while mountain biking. Only reason arm still attached was due to me having so many layers on for warmth.

Be well,

good morning, 70 going to 84 no rain

Had a good day yesterday with more wood stacking, some work on the door, walking Cody, resting.
Saw the fox yesterday. Not many rabbits this year. Maybe the foxes are getting them.
Hostas are all being nippled on. Deers are aggressive eaters this year eating tomato plants, pepper plants and more
Today will be more of the same and slept longer so should be well rested. Got wife in her easy chair and served her first cup pf Coffee

Good Morning Drew,
I bought a new F-150 2017,5.0 L Super Cab. I believe my towing capacity is 7K. The only thing I have really towed was my 22 ft pontoon. Mine has the aluminum body ! When the truck is empty I can get 22-24 mpg on a trip ! The 5.0 has been a great engine for me. What I understand is that the 3.5 EcoBoost has about the same HP but actually has more torque for towing. My friend has the same truck as mine with that engine and swears by it !
