Good morning!!!!

looks like I have to buy a new weather station.
I thought the batteries had died on the outside unit, but no batteries, solar powered.
no obstruction or clog in rain cup, sensor has simply failed. Lasted three years. ?
I'm happy in the 150 range, not 400, so will see what is high rated on Amazon.
You know I had to.

Morning all, 59 going to 81 and sunny.
bench project completed, looks a lot nicer than in photo. Will take outside today.
May go out to birthday dinner tonight.

We flew for hours across China and never left the smog, thick for hundreds of miles outside Beijing.

Check - room looks great, nice tile

While putting up new no trespassing signs met up with neighbor and her and I gabbed for a while. She is third generation in her house and her family owned quite a bit of this side of the hill way back when. She is thinking of moving now that it is only her left.

Drew- I won't deal with construction people without everything in email, in detail. We had our deck guy at last house try to get out of some of the work, until I showed him that I still had the email. Verbal never works, people just seem to "forget"
If you need a look at bike or weather station, bring it on over. Stuck here getting ready for the weekend.

Septic pump out $335, seems everything is going up. Company is great and their trucks are so shiny...

Be well,

2 aa alkalines replaced in weather station. They had been in there since new, 2 1/2 years ago.
seems like very good service life to me.
only the next rain will tell.
however....I did clean out some sunflower bits and pieces the birds had dropped into rain collection bowl, that might help.

sprayed the outdoors evergreens I care about with neem oil this morning, worried about that bad bug coming back, one Ken mentioned.
It almost killed my two new front garden evergreens. I had to trim little bush way back and start over. So far that is working, but now I spray the bush
every six months.

am in nice clothes for my lunch so have to wait til this afternoon for a few projects.
I want to finish putting the e bike together, all the parts like fenders are now in.
and I know if I screw around with that chain lube I'll manage to get it on my pants.
somehow, some way....

Mike,
We also had lots of rain this year, and grass and field grew like crazy, but last year we had a lot of burned patches because of lack of precipitation ! I am guessing you had lots of rain last year also ?

We could mow every week with this years rain amounts !

...

It seems Mother Nature times rain delivery as to encourage weekly mowing, here. Last year I can recall whining about the grass, it being green and needing attention every week.

Same this year, just looking out the front, nice and green. The back....more than six inches high already.

And thank goodness we turned over about 15 acres to Mother Nature a while back. It is almost time to cut a trail through that part. LOL.

Could be worse. Blessed to have cooperating weather here. Blessed.

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High 93F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
It's been quite a while since we've seen such frigid temps. Don't worry, though. By Sunday it'll be back up to 106F/75F.

Thanks for the metal cutting tips, guys. Agree on the safety equipment; I was wearing muffs, too. And gloves to protect my hands from the sharp edges. I'm curious how well that roller thingy will negotiate the ribs, Ted. Also surprised there are so many versions available on Amazon.

My experience with LEDs is pretty much the same as yours, Lou. The actual LED emitter may last a lifetime, but the electronics attached to it will fail sooner than most incandescents. The fire station in Livermore, CA has an incandescent bulb that's been on for 117 years. Match that, LEDs.

Got a hummer on the feeder outside the glass slider that thinks he owns it. He's sitting on the top chirping his fool head off. And chasing all the other birds away. The nectar he's sitting on will spoil before he can finish it all...

Got a battery charger lead put on the van yesterday. Very cramped working environment. Wanted to take the cover off a fuse panel for better access, but one of the fasteners holding it in place wouldn't let go. Put that problem on the list for the first dealer visit. Then went inside the van and wired up a power lead for a radar detector. Also very cramped inside the dash; it's a good thing wires are skinny.

Got a start looking for homeowners insurance for the new house. One company rejected my application because I had two insured losses in five years. Didn't matter that both were caused by environmental factors (fire and wind) that would not be present at the new location. Tried seven outfits, only ended up with one quote. Nationwide won't write in California anymore, the others either had phone issues or their web site was messed up. Heck of a way to run a railroad, and a big waste of time.

No word on the appraisal; hope to get something today.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Sounds like my experience so far. Shopping around not going well. Few technical difficulties, (unacceptable IMHO), and a few rejects (without an explanation), and a few price quotes that are twice what we are paying now?????? WTH.

Crazy, leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Good morning! Low of 60°, heading up to around 90° again. No rain or storms yesterday, only a 20% chance today.
Like RNG, by Sunday, we'll get back up into the high 90's, pushing the triple digits. The rain chances will become nonexistent.

Today's agenda: switch out some of the drippers with the new configuration and start to run the system through the zones.
A secondary task will be to try and block an area behind the hobby shack that keeps getting dug out by some critter..... they keep digging about a 6-7" hole in the gravel going under the 4x4 'foundation' of the shed, then going under.

At first, I thought rabbit, but they aren't known to dig in gravel areas. I filled it in 3 times already, the second time putting a bunch of 2-3" rocks over the small gravel. The critter pushed them out of the way. Persistent little bugger....

Not sure if I'll get into anything else, by then it will probably get too hot to do much more.

Everyone have a great day!
