58 outside this AM, heading to mid 80's.

Smokey skies yesterday, obscured evening activities, like the NASA rocket launch. Sigh....star gazing also put somewhat on hold...sigh...

So we had the septic guy come out again, needs to run a laser to see if we have enough fall for the Milk House hookup. Sigh...

Lawn mower not coming back until Friday, Buppies...gotcha beat on the grass. I may run the tractor and bush hog today. Sigh... It's that tall... I keep saying it is August, but the grass seems to be flourishing. I recall the same issue last year, the grass just did not seem to slow down....until it did, in the Winter.

Nothing on the agenda today, maybe venture out back with the chain saw. OR something simple and less dangerous.

good morning, 58 going to 83 today, no rain

Going for wife's injections at the doctors office today. Will see if missing anything to get at HD before leaving for town.

Stacked 3 loads of firewood yesterday. Will do a few loads later today.

The door project is turning into more of a project. Doweled another screw hole for the hinge yesterday. We had not used that door and it was stuck. Ruined the threshold and cast iron lock part in the process of forcing it open. It is in the log part of the building and some settlement must have caused the problems

Also did some more string trimmer work yesterday

Good Morning
55 outside high of 77 forecast under a sunny sky.

Yesterday was mostly the dog visitation, Zoe’s sister Sophie came from Oregon to visit. It went quite well, they did a fantastic job of wearing each other out.

We had a nice lunch of burgers and hot dogs cooked on the grill and some great strawberry shortcake.

Afterwards I managed to get some FAA paperwork done, and a little work in the shop.

This morning I’m going to take the little plane down to Philly to pick up a friend and take him to Allentown to pick up his plane from the avionics shop. After that it will be mowing time, most likely more quality time with my grandson doing what he likes best.

I agree. I'll look again. Looked up model, said 3AA. ok, inside unit plugged in, has to be outside part.
guessing it's on the bottom.
I saw the solar panel and stopped looking.

My Davis outside unit is Solar powered but has a CR123 lithium battery for backup that I have to change every couple of years.

60 this morning going to 80 at the beach. Another beautiful clear day with very few clouds !

We also had lots of rain this year, and grass and field grew like crazy, but last year we had a lot of burned patches because of lack of precipitation ! I am guessing you had lots of rain last year also ?

We could mow every week with this years rain amounts !

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

67.6F, going to upper 70e, partly/mostly/chance of…

After the bust on the stove run yesterday, we went up to the woodlot and I cleared about a 30x50 spot that we can put up our dog holding facility, plus have a spot to dump soil, since one end is low and soft and not really usable as is. I did a much better job on this spot than I did where the storage building *** cabin went - the difference being almost 40 hours in the seat vs barely 5 hours…

today is trip to vet to get Harry weighed for appropriate parasite preventive medication dose, i need to scrape out the chicken coop/run and put down fresh straw and bag up the fertilizer for the garden.

Got info on the proper rebuild kit in another section of TBN. Found a seller on Teh InterWebz that had the kit for $3.58 —- and the shipping was $3.81! So I ordered two kits, because why not?

Kyle, tree was here when I moved here over 50 years ago. It was leaning then. Had a large branch too left removed about 20 years ago. It was over house and power lines. Not sure if it will ever fall over. I will get seat time if it does.
