talk about years of notice...sale of incandescent bulbs now banned at of August 1.
these are exempted, but for sure all those left over bulbs will likely make their way to third world countries.

I would have thought flood lights would be something targeted, apparently not. And all those halogen bulbs for recessed lighting inside.

This whole thing makes me laugh ! The USA is reducing its carbon footprint, while China is increasing theirs ! I kind of forget all the numbers I read in an article the other day, but the just of the article was that even with our planned reductions, China's increase and projected increase will more than eliminate our reductions !

President Xi is obviously not on board yet !

Finished up with what supplies I had, yep.... half short.

No storm developed yet, but watching the local weather guessers, we might get one moving this direction... but it looks pretty far from us.....

They reported that July was both the hottest and the driest on record. July is normally the wettest month. It's now been 70 days without precip. Actually longer because there was a "trace amount" recorded on day 71, breaking the stretch. It was another 20 days dry before that "trace"

Wifey made homemade spaghetti and meatballs and parmesan bread sticks. Mmmmmm.... I'm stuffed!

Needless to say, did not install any of the drip fittings. Tomorrow is another day, plus it will be cooler in the morning.

So the stove trip was a bust.

Guy was all enthusiastic when we drove up, telling how he had to clear out his barn (For Sale sign at roadway). Stove had no legs, no firebricks… and an 8” crack that he repaired with JB weld…

when I declined the stove I asked what else he had for sale so it wouldn’t be a wasted trip for either of us, but it was like a switch flipped and he was like “I got nothing else and he walked off to open the gate for us to leave…

That ain’t gonna get your barn empty, dude!

Good evening. It has been a long time since I posted. Have been very very busy with renovations to the basement up here. Bathroom and basement kitchen are the biggies, of course, but they are definitely coming along.

Tomorrow we will bring in the toilet From the garage, but the vanity will have to wait a couple days because we don’t have the manpower. It weighs 180 pounds!

We will, however, bring in the dishwasher, and the countertop, so it can be cut. Have to finish, of course, putting in the shelves and the hinges on the doors.

Flooring is that really cool vinyl stuff, and we just put enough so that we can get the kitchen cupboards in. After, we will finish the entire front end, which is about 1000 Square feet. Ceiling will be tongue and groove, and we’ll probably just paint the walls for now. They are OSB.

60F clear very low humidity all day,low over night upper 40's

Been good day for outside puttering got very done I wanted.
Since last Saturday gas gone up 20 cents a gallon $3.69 diesel $4.00 gallon,Electric bill up $27.oo more and we use less KW's last month.

Gotta put sweatshirt before setting on the deck this evening waiting for critters and stars.

was pleased that deer only chomped the front hosta, not the ones in rear next to house, so they got
a chance to bloom. And the hydrangea is very happy there. Morning sun only.

got most of kitchen put back after new counter put on. Not a full win, despite three times asking for a rounded lip on counter they did a flat one,
looks very 70's and the one corner I asked to be rounded off they left it sharp. Was not impressed.
looks much better than old stuff at least. As a tenant I get little respect and can't complain too loudly.
not like I could say take it back and do it way landlady agreed to. She's in Sweden and he's saying oh no one told me that. Un huh.
I told him about the corner myself and he said they forgot to do it. Un huh.
could do a little Rodney Dangerfield routine here....

need to go to bike shop downtown tomorrow and get a bike helmet.
Despite it saying XL, helmet I ordered way too tight, was like a beanie on my fat head.
I think I'm a 7 7/8. So I need to go find something XXL I guess
So no riding the bike today.
I did get in a bike lock for it, a small container of dry chain lube, and the fenders and rest of stuff ordered.
so a little more assembly required. I did get the cell phone holder installed, so I can use mapping on that while riding.
