Good morning!!!!

Good morning! Low of 62° here at home. The high should be around 90°. Heavy cloud cover so far this morning, humidity up to 56%, and a good 40% chance of t-storms. We did have a couple of sprinkles..... 6" rain.... one drop every 6 inches.....

Not enough to register in the gauge yet. We are really dry, no precip since the end of May. Our monsoon season never started. Now, like Don, the guessers are already reporting a dry August. This is not going to be a good year moisture wise.

We had a great time visiting with the daughter/family.
An uneventful drive home, no delays greater than 3-4 minutes in the construction zones around Pagosa Springs. No big crowds crossing the street disrupting traffic either.

Max is missing his girlfriend, Koda.... she really wore him out over the few days. They really play nice together. Koda is only 14 months old, so a lot more energy than Max.

Today's agenda will be to start making up a lot of drip irrigation feed assemblies (90 pieces). On the block border, I had originally used the tubing with emitters every 6 inches built into the tube. This is the second season in use, but sections about 4-5' long have "clogged" emitters. There is no way to clean them out.
So, a regular emitter will be used. The "assembly" is to make a 90° riser up the side of the block and over the top of the block, emitter on the top end.
Should keep me occupied for a while.....

Need to get the camper emptied, then get the coolers and soft suitcases back into the storage compartment.

Hoping everyone has a great day!

Cutting metal roofing.... not a favorite job....
I have tried the circular saw w/ reversed blade: cuts well, but is really, really loud, and hot metal chips fly everywhere!
Tried a 'nibbler'..... nope - too much difficulty cutting the ribs.
Used a jig saw for the small jobs. Secret with this is a good quality metal blade and a slow cut rate. This is the slowest and hardest method....

There are a few videos on YouTube about them. Looks easy to use. I think I'm going to get one just to try it on the next phase of fencing. Not expensive at all.

Have to laugh. Hot metal!

So with the circular saw, the fine tooth blade, blade NOT backwards, seems to have eliminated most sparks. Noise however, WOW. Loud.

I managed to lay my panels on a concrete slab, upside down. So the somewhat flatter service was available for the saw to engage more easily than rib/ridge running.

The cut went a lot faster than I thought, a lot faster than I could keep up. LOL. I had 12 foot panels to work with.

Did I say it was loud?

I was bombarded with grit...but luckily only a spark or two. I think most of the fire was on the underside of the panel. The grit, metal shavings I imagine, were just everywhere.

I wore three sets of eye protection. Glasses, Safety glasses over them, and goggles over all that. I could feel a few shavings hit my arms at times. Face and neck too. Thus, I recommend baggy clothes when cutting.

When building my barn I bought harbor freight shears to cut metal. They worked, little hard going over the ribs. After watching RRbuilders use the nibbles so fast to cut across a panel, I might get some if I need to do it again.

talk about years of notice...sale of incandescent bulbs now banned at of August 1.
these are exempted, but for sure all those left over bulbs will likely make their way to third world countries.

I would have thought flood lights would be something targeted, apparently not. And all those halogen bulbs for recessed lighting inside.
  • Appliance lamps, including fridge and oven lights
  • Black lights
  • Bug lamps
  • Colored lamps
  • Infrared lamps
  • Left-handed thread lamps
  • Plant lights
  • Flood lights
  • Reflector lamps
  • Showcase lamps
  • Traffic signals
  • Some other specialty lights, including marine lamps and some odd-sized bulbs

I bet the prices go up (again) on the excluded bulbs.
I have had so much bad luck with name brand LEDs that blink on dimmers.
CFL bulbs only lasted half the advertised time.
Starting to wonder if there are any cost/resource savings.

68°F and .21 inches rain.

Got the new bed almost together. Need to made a modification to headboard to allow for the electric cords. Love all the position possibilities. Gonna take some exploration, trial and error. The message feature sure is relaxing. Bed company says to give 30 days to evaluate.

Nice Happy Hour gathering

Aim to get some seat time today

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I use my 4-1/2” grinder with a thin blade for roof metal. Zips right along, flats, ribs, angles across ribs, whatever.

Yep, tried the angle grinder one time..... sparks everywhere, lit the paint on fire! ......exciting to say, but not when you have cut 40 panels......

I made an oops...... there are 95 blocks.... so in my haste to order the drip stuff, I ordered "100" each of the fittings and drippers......
Only problem is that there are 2 holes PER BLOCK !
......now I'm short just about half.....

DUH! A good senior moment.... and I'm edumacated....

At least I got 100 of these ready to go.....

Ordered the rest already, won't get here until Friday or Saturday. I'll just get these installed. Probably a good mistake, my fingers are sore already just doing this half.
