My wife wants to mow, but she hates the zero turn. I picked up an older Deere LA175 riding mower for her that doesn't start, but now I'm nervous about getting it running because I think she will create more work for me if she starts mowing. She says that she will give me more time to work on fencing, and other projects, but I think I'll spend more time "helping" her do every little thing she's doing.

My wife does the tractor work. I get the ZTR and other mowers. The ZTR is too rough for her. Heck it beats me up and I thought I knew where all the rough patches are. LOL.
I don't get much tractor time at all. Blasphemy -> I don't really miss it.

My wife wanted to cut patterns in our yard (with 'her' battery walk behind), so I measured/marked her some references - 90, 45 L&R - makes a nice plaid over time.
Her improved 'game' actually changed the behavior of some neighbor males, one has even decided to cut circles and finish the corners.

If the yard needs mowing I have to sneak out and get on the mower before my wife. Otherwise she will be on it. Neighbor claims he timed us over several weeks and she gets the yard mowed in 1:05 and it takes me 1:15. He thinks it's funny.
Come to think about it she is the only female mower in the 40+ houses in our neighborhood. All the single women hire their mowing done.

Back when I was married we had acre lot in the Detroit area and I bought my B7100DT with the Woods RM48 mower. My neighbor said why
do you make your wife mow the lawn, I said I don't, we argue you who's going to do it and she wins most of the time. She was from the UP
also and was used to mowing lawns and splitting wood.
I have two friends here and their wives both mow their lawns with ZTRs.

Wearing eye protection. I like a gal who's safety minded.If it means I have to get married to get my lawn mowed, I'd rather hire it out.
