Tried with 5/64 rods and generator is working at max but nice welds at 75 amps, My question is The round 220 plug stronger than the outlet plugs? I got a round plug but 3 wires but generator is a round 4 wire, I got a new generation in a box 4000watts aswell that the plug fits, Would there be a difference? Could i maybe weld 3/32 rods? thx

Keeping new in box for emergency's but if stronger might use

The plugs are only as strong as the volts/amps they are rated for. If your using a normal looking three prong plug for your welder you're getting 120v at 15 or 20 amps, probably 15 which means you're only able to draw 1,800 watts. The round 220 plug is running 220 volts and likely running at 30 or 40 amps (8,800 watts), in your case however it's only a 4000 watt generator so that's the max you'll get, but much more than the three hole plug.

It will likely help to feed the welder more power. What welder and generator specifically? Just because a generator says 4kw on the box doesn't mean that's it's actual sustained output. If you're welder is rated for real 220v it will also make a difference just because you'll get two phase power to it.

My welder is a 120/220 but I only got an adapter that plugs behind a stove or dryer

That looks like a 30a 110v plug

Nope, that splits the 220 to 120.

If your welder has an actual plug you need the adapter to get that plug to the generator, probably this one? Just look at the plugs you've got, there's a lot of 220v variants.

The garage im getting will have no electricity for awhile so 3/32 would be perfect for a few projects I need to do for my tractor, need to weld 1/4 inch mild steel

Wiring in house is small grade, Don't want to melt anything , I need to run a 8grade wire to garage

Where do you find 220 two phase? And what runs on it?
I've got 120 and 240 single phase from the power company and I can generate 240 three phase w/ a converter (RPC or VFD) from that.
Are you sure? That would be extremely odd. What outlet do you have?
