the Golden Rule sure doesn't run out of style...

weather forecast says couple of inches of snow tomorrow night, so I pulled in the rv slide; don't want snow piling up on vinyl slide topper.

made plans to visit my brother in Cedarville MI this summer, there is a nice little rv park 1000 feet from his home, seriously convenient,
and also to stop by and visit friends in Lancaster PA, who own the Lancaster motorcycle dealership there. They are old friends all the way back to high school, and lived
on our farm for several years. They are such happy people and they smile more than anyone I know.

And one more trip to Margaretville NY off Route 28.
Then if I survive all that, just might crank up the Head West trip again.
Smaller steps first.

That's why my first and only cat is an outside cat. She will come in for a few minutes, but want back outside.

Working on 2008 toyota commuter today. Seems the belt slippage was related to the clutchless a/c compressor. It needs a new drive pulley.

RNG, nice video. Lake could come up some more.

m7040, don't take this wrong, but I've been, and also almost been the victim or reverse racism, or just plain old racism, or whatever it should be called. I just try to treat people the way I'd like to be treated. Didn't happen those days for me.

Prayers for our team.
I am sure most of us can say we have been exposed to racism to some extend but there are degrees of racism. If you have to worry about being killed by police at a traffic stop that is a different level of racism and then there are the more subtle levels like realtors do in evaluating housing for loans for minority folks and the list goes on.......and on. Unless you have been directly exposed to this I am sure it is hard to understand

Well, shop time didn't happen at all! About 10 minutes after my post, the wind kicked up and so did all the dirt / dust. That went on for about 2 hours before a few sprinkles arrived. That cut down on the blowing dirt, but the wind is still ripping! Temp is at 32° right now. A few snow squalls blew through.

MicroJig Dovetail Clamp in a slot:

View attachment 785682

Looking at that clamp, it’s surprising how similar it is to the clamps on my welding table. Instead of dovetail slots, I drilled a pattern of holes, and cut off HF bar clamps and welded them to pins to fit in the holes.

I was in the Smokie mountains and asked for directions from a good old boy. He asked me what made me think he would tell a dam Yankee anything, as I was getting two cokes from his machine which I paid for and gave him one, I said to me you are all Yankees.
Y'all aren't from around heah. He asked where I was from and I told him that I didn't have any say in the matter but I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
He gave me the directions, accepted the coke and told me to use his lot to turn around. Did I feel discriminated against? NO. But I do understand that some people haven't put the civil war to bed yet.

Way back when I hauled gravel early 1970s, I went into a barbershop on Bathurst St. just north of Bloor St. in Toronto looking for a haircut (this was before I saw the light and let it grow), a black barber and 4 black guys in the shop. Barber says, I think your in the wrong store. I said judging by the scissors in your hand and what you are doing with them, I think I am in the right place for a haircut, my hair was a lot on the shaggy side. 3 of the guys that were in there ahead of me told me to go ahead of them.
It is all in how you treat people.

Good early (Monday) arvo. Overnight Low of 14C and it's presently 25.5C, clear with a breeze kicking up. There was 0.8mm in the gauge @ 0900 (from yesterdays morning).

I'm a wee bit behind schedule (as if a retired bloke actually has a schedule) due to a funeral I attended this morning @ 1100. It was for a fellow Navy veteran (so I got fully 'booted & spurred', with gongs [medals]). I really didn't know who had passed until I got to the RSL [our 'Legion'], where the ceremony was taking place, and discovered that I knew the bloke only by his nickname. Crikey, he was only a year older than I am now. I nice traditional 'send off' at the end with all having a tot of rum.

I noticed some water dripping from an unusual part of my guttering and, upon inspection, found that a couple of pipe holding brackets had come away and that the water pipe had a very noticeable sway to it. I couldn't push the 'sway' up with a pole so there's probably a lot of rainwater in there. I'm thinking that this looks like a (very delicate) job for my FEL to lift and let it drain before installing new brackets.

Later on it'll be time to transfer the horses into Paddock #1 with a new round of hay.

That's about it, take care all

Randy(wag) sorry about your friend, my condolences. Hope you can fix gutter with no more damage.
Ta Mate. I decided to first see if it was a matter of leverage, so I got my (whiz-bang) AGFEST adjustable ladder out. I tied it off for safety and was able to lift the 'sag' sufficiently enough to drain it. (y) I was also able to re-use the existing brackets as the previous screws were just small Philips-head screws which had popped out... honestly, I am surprised that they lasted this long, but that's what the plumber used. I used long hex-head wood screws to fix it all up.

Of course, now I was in a 'fix it' mood, so I proceeded to mount a large 2.5kg dry-chem extinguisher out in the common area of the shed where the tractor & hay is stored.

rswyan said, "Woman was up when I got up about an hour ago. Said She had been up since 09:00 and felt good when She woke up ... then took her Paxlovid and has started to feel yucky again. So She went back to bed."

I sure understand that. Hope it gets better for her soon.
