Morning all, 29 going up to 44, says sunny but clouds beg to differ.

Drilled pipe replaced with PEX, took a long time for them to get the old pipe out and new one in as it was through a truss and other side of a beam. When I mess up, I do it well.

Then filler on boiler is not working, so had to fill from the return side, purge, fill, purge, fill etc.
Finally got everything done close to 6pm. Now need to replace filler, only 4 years old, but he told me this type usually fails on well water and I could use a different type, some research to be done. Would call this guy back in an emergency again, father/son team.

Only good that came of this is can see a gap in sill plate to run wire without drilling.......Expensive knowledge.

Drew - chainsaw action and only an hour away.

PopG - No space for another TV. Drew- hot tub tv for your basement?? I certainly could help move it.

Need to get furring strips for basement to act as drywall attachments and buy the 10/2 wire so I can start running it.

Back to day job, everyone who is coming back is back in today.

Be well

Wngsprd, glad you had a good day hiking. I was wondering if you was on the trail. I can always shuttle you if you hike up this way.

Friends of ours used to live near the AT at Rt 50. I didn’t realize that section up to Rt 7 was so hilly. I’ve been looking at AT from I66 north thinking I might want to try hiking some of it.

I have a 50” projection TV taking up space in my garage that I intend to cut into small pieces so the trash can take it. It’s pretty much all plastic.
Still have a couple tube TVs there also, one is extremely heavy.

I watched some YouTube this morning, then fell asleep in the lazyboy. Now my neck is stiff.

Good morning, 37 going to 49 warmer for sure

Going to town for wife's doctor visit
The lock set on the kitchen door gets jammed up so the key won't open it. A lot of wiggling got it open but don't trust to do that anymore.
I can get a lock smith to do a key alike set but will likely stop at HD and get a new one. Will be cheaper

Hope everyone is feeling better this week

I pretty much assumed that I would be cutting it up, but it pains me to destroy something that is fully functional.
understood
appreciate the offer but this little house already has two tv's I basically don't watch.

at the public dump in NC, there was a huge pile of these older tvs. Nobody wants them and they sure weren't cheap
when we bought them. I think mine was a Sony.

Popgadget, my only other thought might be donating it to a women's shelter. I did that once with a big tv from my Radio Shack, took them a 27 Hitachi
that I got a good deal on. When I saw those beat up women, some in casts and black eyes, made me feel good.

also, maybe a local school or day care could use it.

Thanks for the shuttle offer. Goldilocks shuttled me yesterday. Really made it work out great.

Seems like the most hikers I saw yesterday parked at a good sized parking area on Morgans Mill Road (gravel road from Frogtown up to Mt Weather) and hiked south up Piney Ridge (real pretty) and/or north up Buzzard Hill (great view and Pua Falls on the way). Also popular is parking at Rte 7 and hiking up to Bears Den with a beautiful rocky cliff overlook (short hike). I liked these sections more than the I 66 north section to Paris.

The recliner is feeling extra good today.

Good Morning!!!! 38F @ 6:45AM. Mainly sunny. High 54F. Winds light and variable.
We got another 0.04" of rain yesterday, but it took all afternoon to fall. With the clouds clearing out overnight, the temps are now down into the 30s. Looking forward to some outside time today, probably dismantling the flying porch cover.

As you say, Billy, I'll miss the lake views, particularly at sundown, but I won't miss the smoke, fires, and especially the wind. Might miss the campfire ring, too, but that depends on the yard at the new place. No hurry in any of that, though, as I'm still looking for a good general location, and the Santa Maria idea still needs some on the ground exploring.

Gosh Paul, I guess you missed page 284 in The Real Man's Handbook about always replacing any TV with a much bigger one?🤣

Good point about sleep, Ron. I'm lucky if I get 6 hours, and I'm always up around 5AM no matter what time I hit the sack. Eating is similarly flexible, which mostly depends on my hunger level, not the time of day.

Yesterday was an inside day doing paperwork, then some garage time clearing off the welding table and workbench. A few months ago I got some holders for the Makita power tool batteries, and yesterday I finally got around to installing them on the inside of one of the cabinet doors. That was the price paid for more space on the welding table.

I did take a phone call from one of the Directors of our Airheads motorcycle club. Once again, three of the other Directors have formed a majority and are taking the club that is not at all popular with the members. They started by firing the club's magazine editor, who also founded and wrote the bylaws, they say because he published non-relative content in his editorials. Hmmm, isn't that stuff allowed in editorial content? I think it's because one or more of them coveted his $1200/month salary. But then they said there would be no more content published from a long dead but still well regarded mechanical guru due to an agreement that none of said content would ever be published electronically. I'm guessing maybe 1/3 of the members never go on the internet and don't even have email addresses, so their only access to not only those tech articles, but the BoD minutes, is through the newsletter that the BoD wants to offer electronically in the future. A similar thing happened a few years ago, and the election at the end of that year saw a sweep and new BoD members, so I'm guessing that's the way this'll go, too. Now it's just a matter of how many people will quit between now and them. I think I'll be one of them so I'll miss out on the drama.

Finally heard back from the insurance estimator who will be forwarding a preliminary payment based on her estimate. She's already indicated there will be additional payments after she reconciles her estimate with the one from the contractor. I also heard back from the roofer that patched over the stove pipe hole, and he's also preparing an estimate. He's not planning to replace the stove pipe chase, and instead will use guy wires to hold the stove pipe in place. Once I have the two estimates in place, I'll pick one to go with.

Gonna let it warm up a bit more before I tackle anything outside, but not sure what I'll get into...

Waiting outside at the doctors office for wife’s injections. The biological injection solution has to be mixed and be clear before injection so takes about an hour each time.
Almost missed the appointment because of bad accident that blocked both lanes and forced us into a long detour. The wet roads this morning likely contributed

Morning to all,
A nice sunny day to start with even though it's only16F. Supposed to go up to low 30's today.
Home from my Urologist appointment and having a late breakfast and getting caught up on my reading.
Going up in the woods with my nephew again this afternoon.
A winter weather advisory for this afternoon;

"..WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
7 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Little or no snow or sleet
accumulation. Ice accumulations of a light glaze ranging from a
few hundredths to less than a tenth of an inch.

* WHERE...The Lake George and northern Saratoga Region including
all of Washington County and southern Vermont.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Wednesday"

Wow and this rates an advisory for a storm that may or may not do anything but whatever it does will be almost nothing.
To all have a good day, stay safe and get well.
